5+ Low Cost Marketing Strategies for 2022...
So this list is comprised of strategies I've seen work for businesses across numerous industries throught-out 2022.
--
LinkedIn Events - they're great primarily because you're able to invite 1000 connections per week, per speaker, ENTIRELY FOR FREE. Meaning that if you've got a team of 10 speakers they're able to invite a maximum cap of 10k speakers to the event at no cost whatsoever.
What's also great about LinkedIn events is that you're able to run them through a company page which also gives you the benefit of being to capture the emails of the attendees for further re-marketing through emails or ads. (Requires a bit of Zapier)
All in all, very cost effective for building B2B traction and easy to both set up & run using tools like Streamyard.

TikTok Content Marketing - TikTok is hands down the most GENEROUS platform out there when it comes to organic reach.
I am seeing businesses grow left & right on TikTok and they all seem to share the same common understanding.
The videos need to be subbed.
The videos need to be something a cold audience can engage with.
(Videos like filing your taxes as a marketing manager in Delaware are too complex and boring)
The vids also need some sort of b-roll (overlay) added on top of the content.
And lastly, the videos need to have a hook that holds on the audience on the video for the content.
All of the aforementioned best practices place your video in a good standing when it comes to optimizing for shares, likes, favorites & audience retention.

TikTok Ads - Most marketers running TikTok ads right now are comparing the platform to Facebook Ads back in 2017.
Minimal competition.
An engaged audience.
Ok tracking solutions.
And good targeting.
BUT, the advertisers performing best on the platform right now are those who have a good understanding of how TikTok organic works.
Because then, they're essentially just taking REALLY GOOD CONTENT that follows best practices and would have pumped anyways without ad spend, and pumping it further with ads.

Reddit Content Marketing - Marketing on Reddit is hard AF but its possible.
The key thing regarding Reddit is that the content has to actually provide value though, otherwise it just won't stick.
One of my favorite strategies for Reddit is checking a subreddit's top performing posts over the past year.
Understanding what resonates with the community and then replicating that post style with my own info & resources.
--
Reddit Ads - As mentioned above, Redditors typically hate ads and will actually dedicate time out of their day to destroy advertisers in the comments section of their ads...
BUT!
If you actually advertise something that Redditors want, or find cool, you're set up for success.
Over the past year I've seen game publishers absolutely kill it on the platform so it definitely is possible.
Reddit has some of the lowest CPMs & CPCs out there and a relatively high quality audience so definitely worth testing out.

Twitter Spaces (Audiorooms) - Ever since the quick rise & death of Clubhouse, Twitter Spaces have been taking over.
I've seen a lot of projects, especially NFTs, absolutely kill it with Twitter Spaces over the past year - successfully building communities & selling out collections with little to no cost whatsoever.
The trick with Twitter Spaces lies in the speakers, because the FOLLOWERS of the speakers will see the Space in their Space feed.
So even IF, your Twitter account is TINY, you can still build some traction by just on boarding big speakers with a relevant following.

Youtube Long Form + SEO Research - Youtube Long Form content is definitely one of the best low cost content marketing strategies out there!
But you've got to do it smart.
If you just hop onto Youtube right now and start creating content that you FEEL like creating, the chances of you succeeding are sub 1%.
But!
If you use Google Trends to identify worthwhile keyword traffic on Youtube...
And then pair it up with a tool like VIDIQ to separate low competition mid volume keywords and rank your VIDS on those keywords.
And rank your videos specifically on those KWs.
You're setting yourself for success.
--
Youtube Shorts - pair up your YT long form strategy with Youtube's new Short content format and you're 10xing your views with minimal effort.
Basically speaking, Youtube feels threatened by TikTok.
So they rolled out Shorts.
Shorts work on the infamous "segmented progressional" algorithm.
It tests your content with a 200 people.
Checks your audience retention & like/share metrics.
If they're good, it pumps your video to another 200/300.
And so on the cycle goes.
Whats important though is applying the exact same BEST CONTENT PRACTICES that I mentioned in the TikTok segment.

Cold Email Outreach - Cold Email is hands down the godfather of LOW-COST HIGHLY EFFECTIVE marketing strategies.
To succeed, you need to understand deliverability (use tools like Glockapps), a bit of copywriting, automation tools like Snov or Instantly, and rotating satellite domains (so you don't burn your main domain.)
Only do this for business to business comms otherwise it won't work.
It's ok to cold email a company asking them if they're interested in lead gen cos they just put a lead gen marketer job role up on Indeed.
It's not ok to cold email a random consumer with your ecomm weight loss pills.
