5 Mindset Shifts To Start Owning Your Worth in 2024
As business owners and solopreneurs, it’s far too easy to undervalue ourselves and the incredible transformation we facilitate for clients.
When we undervalue ourselves, we operate from a position of weakness, instead of strength. We shy away from "salesy" pricing conversations. We diminish ourselves, our value, and what we offer others by the titles and space we don’t claim.
But here's the truth: we provide tremendous value that deserves to be recognized and paid for. However, owning our worth doesn't start with raising rates (although that does come later!)
It first requires mindset shifts and radical self awareness around our core confidence and guiding principles. From there, everything else aligns.
So here are 5 ways I remind myself of my worth and my price.
1. Clarify Your Personal Values
Before we build any external empire, we need to get crystal clear on internal guiding lights. What specific core values deeply resonate at your soul level? How do you hope to show up each day through your work and life?
My values include passion, integrity, growth and community. I let those pillars guide my decision making – from services I offer to rates I charge. Defining your individual standards and aligned pricing.
Truly connect with what fulfillment means for YOU. Abundance takes on a whole new meaning when you’re building a business and career to support the life you want to live.
2. Do your market research
Next, dive into competitive market research. This step is about gathering market information, not comparison. But reviewing what high performers at your experience level are charging is incredibly clarifying as you shape offers.
Deploy Google, LinkedIn and niche associations to benchmark where serious players with experiential parity price themselves. Consider reach and aesthetics too. This knowledge informs rates you can confidently uphold.

3. Quantify The Value You Deliver
Now it’s time to scientifically showcase your impact. Tracking client outcomes builds literal proof behind raising rates aligned to the immense transformation you create.
Calculate metrics like leads generated, revenue won, deals closed, problems solved over a three month period with current top-tier clients. Even interview them asking what win rate your services enable vs their efforts alone.
Share those ROI win receipts! If your work directly accelerates growth tenfold for a chosen few ideal customers, you wield tremendous influence worthy of matching compensation.
4. Commit To Continuous Growth
Top consulting firms commit 10-20% of revenue back into developing talent. As entrepreneurs and executives we need to adopt something similar. Our skills and knowledge directly fuel our worth.
So choose investment vehicles like courses, masterminds and more that spark inspiration and fill gaps. Become a lifelong learner around optimizing delivery of your craft.
The more we elevate, the more we can charge for access and outcomes. Consider growth opportunities aligned with your goals and vision.
5. Anchor Confidence Internally
Finally, recognize that self-assuredness won't arrive overnight. But the journey to charging boldly while feeling worthy is incredibly affirming.
