5 Most Common Questions in a Job Interview
English job interviews don't have to be a nightmare. Currently, most recruiters ask respondents (you) the same basic questions. So, with a little preparation, you can perform very well in your interview.
In this post, I'll present you 5 questions and answers that are more common in a job interview.
So, let's start our learning.
First question: Could you tell me more about yourself?
To answer this question you could make references to your personal and professional life. Example:
"I'm 35 years old and I live in Rio de Janeiro. I’ve been working at XPTO for 5 years as a Tax Analyst.
My duties included tax compliance, tax advisory, and tax documentation.
I have a bachelor degree in tax account at La Salle University and an MBA in tax law ."
Second question: What are your strong points?
When your interviewer asks you that question, he wants to know all of your positive qualities. You can answer:
My main strength is communication skills in all professional life, this characteristic helps me to build a stronger team and get excellent results.
I also consider myself to be a team-player. I like to work with other people and I find that it’s much easier to achieve something when everyone works together and communicates well.
Third question: What is your weakness?
In this question, the recruiter wants to know how you try to fix your weaknesses and they also want to know how self-aware you are (how much you know about yourself). You can answer:
I think that it’s important to keep on track and improve my skills in time management because in my area it’s extremely important to be organized. We work with many important deadlines. So, I'm working to improve this ability.
Fourth question: What are three of your best accomplishments?
In this question, you need to list the main projects and results that you conquered in your career. Example:
I helped in the implementation of the Shared Services Center. This project required me so many abilities, such as knowledge in people management, and design of rules and guidelines.
In another opportunity, I could be responsible for creating a new tax area (tax consult), where my main challenge was to develop all the team to meet the demands of internal areas.
Lastly, I had a great opportunity to work on a big project around the SAP system. In this opportunity I had a chance to work with different areas of the company, combining efforts for the success of the project.
Fiftieth question: Why do you think you are suited for this position?
At this moment you could highlight the reasons why you are suitable to perform the function in the company. Example:
I have many skills and knowledge that I believe can help in the growth of this company and my professional career. I also believe in the culture and I’m identified with the purposes of this company.
These were the 5 suggestions of the main topics more common in a job interview. I hope that I could help you on your journey.
For learning more about this topic, keep studying and practice more and more every day.
