5 STEPS TO SETTING GOALS  IN 2020 THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

5 STEPS TO SETTING GOALS  IN 2020 THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

As we bring in 2020 this week, I want to take a moment and bring you 5 QUICK ways you can set goals this New Year that will completely, even radically, change your life.

#1 Set 10X Goals, NOT resolutions.

"If the goal doesn’t change the quality of your life, you will quit on it."

92% fail on New Year's Resolutions. Why?

Because they are often vague, but more frequently they are just NOT exciting.

When your goals aren’t big enough, it’s easy to give up on them when the enthusiasm dries up.

This is why so many people go back to their old habits in a month.

Most New Year resolutions have NO real commitment behind them, and the proof in this is that in order for a commitment to be real, it must include time and money.

If you have don’t have enough time or money right now it’s because you don’t invest time and money!

New Year Resolutions and baby goals just won't motivate you to ever take enough action.

A 10X goal sets a target for yourself that is 10X greater than what you believe you can achieve and motivates you to take actions that are 10X greater.

So, don't just make a resolution. Make some 10X Goals!

#2 Have a Real Plan.

It’s what you’ve done every day that has created the life you’re living right now.

What kind of plan do you have now? Are the actions you’re taking daily moving you closer to your goals, keeping you stuck in the same spot or actually moving you away from the life you want?

Once you make your 10X Goals for 2020, start making a plan of action to move you toward the target.

Look, I'm the last guy that wants to do meetings and planning sessions—I'm about taking actions...but you still need some strategy behind your efforts.

#3 Know Your WHY.

This is your “Mac Daddy.”

Are you crystal clear on your why?

Why is this your resolution? What is the why behind the why? What is it that is driving you?

If you’ve never had a goal so big and juicy that you were unable to sleep at times because of it, you’ve never been fully on purpose.

On-purpose people have goals so inspiring that they are willing to give up other things they once found entertaining.

Look around and you will see men and women plagued by depression, no sense of purpose, barely getting by, with only enough money to cover basic needs, as if they are sitting in the classroom waiting for their teacher to let them out of class.

Masses of people are apathetic, bored, lulled into a sense of nothingness; easily distracted by bad news, gossip and drama.

This all comes from a lack of purpose.

Know your WHY and you'll have a successful 2020.

#4 Have Accountability.

Who is there to hold you accountable for achieving your resolutions, goals and targets?

You made this commitment, you know your WHY, but who’s going to help you stay on course?

That's one reason I'm doing a special Mentor program this year——> learn more about it HERE

Throughout my life I have used coaching & mentorship to get me through tough times. Having a coach to guide and push me and hold me accountable helped me reach goals I never imagined possible.

#5 Change Your Surroundings.

Your life will NOT change until you change.

That starts with your immediate surroundings. If you spend all your time in a room with a bunch of cigarette smokers, odds are you’re going to get cancer too.

The bottom line is that if you aren’t updating your surroundings on a regular basis, then you will become stagnant.

DO NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN MECHANICS

Thinking too much about HOW to achieve goals will stop you from setting the right sized goals.

The "How to" always comes later….

For example, Elon Musk does not know how to go to Mars, but he starts moving toward the target anyways.

So begin today by simply WRITING YOUR GOALS DOWN, and then write them daily to reinforce them.

Write in PRESENT TENSE & be specific.

Wrong goals would include, "I am going to make more money."

Instead, write "I earn X per day, X per week, X per month, X per year."

WORK ON THE WHO BEFORE THE HOW

Last thing to do (and the hardest part)

Who and what do you need to remove from your life?

Be great,
