Bob Parsons, CEO of PXG and founder of GoDaddy, understands the qualities it takes from a leader to build a lasting business. When business leaders and entrepreneurs can combine the right mindset with a winning idea, anything is possible. Here are five of Bob’s most valuable strategies to help anyone generate more momentum in their business and position themselves for greater success.

Be willing to ask for help

We can end up wasting our finite resources such as time and money if we do not have the humility to seek advice from others. We cannot know everything, so seeking out people who have situational knowledge that we can learn from is an essential part of growth. When we practice humility and ask others for help, we also become an investment of theirs and they are more likely to assist us in the future.

Following our heart is essential

When it comes to entrepreneurship, it’s important to follow our heart and do what we like to do. The added boost of motivation or inspiration that we get from chasing our passion can be crucial to manifesting our dreams. We cannot listen to anybody who tells us what’s possible or impossible in terms of our goals and allow their limiting beliefs to become our own.

Be pragmatic about each and every day

Rome wasn’t built overnight and our business won’t be, either. We have to take action each and every day in a trajectory of where we think we want our business to be, understanding that our business and its goals will evolve. We may end up somewhere better than we had ever planned, but we cannot make that our reality without consistent and persistent effort.

We need to play to our strengths and work on our weaknesses

As our business evolves, it's vital to ensure that we don’t lose sight of our greatest strengths, as these will help us to get through any challenges we experience along our journey. We must also pay attention to the aspects of the business that aren’t functioning optimally and work to make improvements in those areas. We cannot change everything all at once, so it’s important to look at the areas of the business that generate the most friction and then work to improve those processes, which will yield great results over time.

When we love something, it will tell us all its secrets

We cannot become an expert at any skill without first finding a love for learning that particular skill. When we love something, we are much more willing to invest our full selves in that pursuit. And if we are paying attention as we pursue our potential in that skill, we are positioning ourselves to learn all of the intricacies and nuances and become an expert. Only when we love something and are fully invested can we learn all of the secrets for succeeding in that art.

Great insight as always David. My favorite part is "Be pragmatic every day.....Rome wasn't built in a day.....and we may end up somewhere better than we had ever planned." Certainly the case for me and we aren't done yet!

David, inspiring article! Having the right mindset, the right attitude and the right strategy is crucial! My shortcut was hiring a mentor who is some steps in front of me and has already faced the challenges I face now. Continues personal development is alpha and omega! I just love to follow my heart and to realize my vision of connected world where I help people to connect, to get to know each other, to build genuine relationships, to get inspired from each other and when it works to do business together. The focus on my strengths, overcoming obstacles and working on my weaknesses is crucial too. Thanks to overcoming challenges I found every time a gift behind them. And everything needs patience, perseverance and consistency. Giving up is not an option for me. My life brings me opportunities every day when I stay aware, work on myself and enjoy the present moment. Our skills - human skills included - get more and more important because people have lots of certifications, but the question is how they can apply their skills in the daily business. Believing in myself, sharing my learnings and experiences with my audience is so important to help them. Being empathetic, kind and behavior as human is the key to the better world.
