7 Ways to Be Christ-Centered In Business
1. Pray with someone you've never prayed with before.
Encourage your organization/business to spiritually unite with the people around them. It’s easy to stay comfortable and pray with those closest to us. But imagine what God will do when we step out of our comfort zones and pray with someone we’ve never prayed with before!
How could this work practically? Well...
There have been several times when team members have come to me with something serious going on in their life. Whether separating in their marriage, struggles with their children and more. I'll ask them in that moment, can I pray for you? They can say no. And I would respect that. But more often that not it's been yes and it's turned into a powerful moment. The same goes for clients, partners or others in the community.
2. Give to someone in need.
Help your organization understand irrational generosity and "unlock" the giving mindset. Simple things like making a donation to a podcast guest's favorite charity or even giving away discounted services to non-profits can be a great way to express generosity.
One thing we do every year is make a donation to Feeding America based on however many episodes we did the previous year. So this past Christmas we donated 19,200 meals to families in need (1,920 episodes released) and let our clients know in our yearly letter.
3. Serve someone.
Empower your company to use what they have to be a blessing to the people around them. Help them see that we were created to need one another and that as a values focused business, we can meet the needs of our community if we are willing to do things differently!
Go out of the way to make a client's day awesome? Yes. Stop everything to help a team member in a time of trouble? Yes.

4. Encourage someone who is hurting.
We have no idea what one word of encouragement can do to make a difference in someone’s life! No matter a person’s background or current situation, everyone has the ability to encourage others. God can use each person in your business to lift someone up who may be down.
5. Post something about your faith.
LinkedIn is a powerful tool. In this time where people need hope, we can give it to them! We can encourage our communities to share messages of faith in any way (just don't be weird about it). Some may want to record a video sharing their faith journey with their social media friends. LinkedIn can be a platform on which we all can spread hope and let our light shine for the world to see.
6. Invite someone to take a next step.
The great thing about virtual selling and podcasting and this new world we're living in is that we can connect with a way broader net of people. Even if you don't end up doing business with someone you're virtually networking with, you can offer something of value to them or point them in the direction of a video sermon or message that inspired you!
7. Pray for those outside your normal circle.
We all spend a lot of time praying for our friends or family or even the issues that we’re facing in our lives. But, encourage your community to to step out in faith and pray for those outside of their normal circle. Whether that is the partners or vendors in their network, employees of another company, or nextdoor neighbors, we can take time this week to lift up more people to God in prayer and win in business together!
