7 Ways to Skyrocket Your LinkedIn Visibility

LinkedIn is THE BEST platform for job hunting and professional networking, in my opinion of course, BUT if you don't do it right, it's just another social media platform. People don't realize you can easily get visibility by creating a dynamic profile to showcase your personality, share your expertise, and connect with like-minded professionals. As we are hitting the summer heat, if you're looking to make a splash and get noticed on LinkedIn, here are seven and effective strategies to boost your visibility:

  1. Craft Catchy Headlines Your headline is the first thing people see, so make it count! Instead of the usual job title, try something more engaging. For example, "Marketing Maestro." This not only highlights your professional skills but also adds a personal touch that can spark curiosity without making it a guessing game as to who you are and what you can do.
  2. Post Engaging Polls Polls are funny. People hate them but they also love sharing their opinions, and honestly, LinkedIn polls are a great way to engage your network. Be sure to create relevant polls related to your industry. For instance, if you're in tech, you could ask, "Which emerging tech trend will have the biggest impact in 2024?" As remember, polls encourage interaction and can significantly increase your profile's visibility.
  3. Share Behind-the-Scenes Content Give your network a glimpse into your work life unbalance with behind-the-scenes posts. Share photos or videos of your workspace, team meetings, or a day-in-the-life snapshot. KEEP IT WORK RELATED but humanizing your profile, allows connections to see the real person behind the professional facade.
  4. Create and Share Infographics People are too busy and tired to read so from time to time, create visual content. Create infographics that summarize key industry trends, showcase your skills, present complex information in an easily digestible format. If you aren't sure how do know tools like Canva can help you design eye-catching infographics that are perfect for LinkedIn sharing.
  5. Host LinkedIn Live Sessions Live videos are a fantastic way to interact with your audience in real-time. Host Q&A sessions, industry discussions, or mini-workshops on topics you're passionate about. Even if one person shows up the first session, as you built it, they will come :)
  6. Celebrate Milestones and Wins LinkedIN is not the place to be shy. No one knows what you are doing unless you post it so... celebrate your achievements, both big and small. Whether it's landing a new job, completing a project, or earning a certification. No bragging but SHARE SHARE SHARE... to make it light you can add an emojis, gifs, or even a celebratory video.
  7. Engage with GIFs and Emojis Some people are against it but some people will always be hating so let them be them and you be you. As while LinkedIn is a professional platform, that doesn't mean your interactions have to be dull. Spice up your comments and posts with appropriate GIFs and emojis. They can make your posts more memorable and engaging.

Now... get creative, have fun, and watch your LinkedIn presence soar and of course if you arent sure exactly how to get started I am here to help :)

Headlines and milestones have been really helpful. I also have noticed that sharing an article that I found informative generates a lot of visibility as well. It shows what you’re passionate and interested in learning about. Thanks for sharing Jessica!

Simple but actionable ideas Jessica! One other I'd add is to use the odd animated image in your posts. They really catch attention in the feed if used judiciously.
