Emergency Descent of Korean Air Boeing 737 Max
A Korean Air Boeing 737-8 MAX, with registration HL8352, experienced a loss of cabin pressure while ascending through 35,000 feet shortly after departure from Seoul, South Korea, en route to Taichung, Taiwan on June 22, 2024. The crew initiated an emergency descent to 8,000 feet, released passenger oxygen masks, and safely returned to Seoul approximately 2.5 hours later; 17 passengers needed medical evaluation. South Korea's Ministry of Transport detailed that the most common symptoms among the affected were hyperventilation and ear pain, with no severe injuries reported. Bimini Emergency Landing Substantially Damages Aircraft
On June 23, 2024, a Tropic Ocean Airways Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX, registration N384TA, made an emergency landing in North Bimini, Bahamas, due to a power loss while en route from South Bimini Airport to Fort Lauderdale International Airport. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority of the Bahamas has launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred around 3:00 PM local time, involving the float-equipped aircraft manufactured in 2016. German Team Investigates Malawi Plane Crash
A team of three German aviation experts landed in Lilongwe, Malawi, on June 24, 2024, to investigate a military plane crash that occurred on June 10, killing Vice President Saulos Chilima and eight others. The investigation follows a request by President Lazarus Chakwera for an independent inquiry into the crash, promising the team unfettered access to all necessary resources and sites. According to Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu, the expertise of the German team is crucial in determining the cause of the crash, with additional support from US and UK experts anticipated.
