Good explanation. One of the problems I've seen which can affect options 2,5,6,7 & 8 is if the discharge cooler condenses liquid with a higher mol wt than feed gas and the designer is not careful with design of the recycle arrangement the recycle stream can become progressively leaner and the system "leans out". The compressor then develops less discharge pressure and in some systems it may no longer be able to deliver gas forward, pressure rises suction side and feed gas has to be flared by a PCV.
