This is not a comprehensive list, but rather a collection of my personal experiences. Hope it helps!
- Go to bed 30 minutes earlier than normal. Rest is important.
- Rise early, not feeling "rushed" is a big component in day to day workload anxiety.
- Even though you are busy, carve out at least 30 mins to do relatively NOTHING. Don't scroll on social media, don't read, don't write.. relax. Meditate. Breathe.
- Drink more water. It's likely you are not getting enough. Most of us are not.
- Limit notifications. Turn your phone's notifications off, unless it is something urgent. Snapchats, Tik-Tok's, your aunt's Facebook messages..... these can all wait.
- Create rewards. "If I get 1,2,3 and 4 done, I will then allow myself to __________. "
- Get moving. Walks, yoga, or other exercise. Our bodies manifest stress in different ways. That nagging neck or back pain might be irritating you and ruining your mood.
- Ease down and ease back up! Even though you are busy, allow yourself a period of time before bed that is easy going and not work related. Same thing for the morning. Don't wake up and immediately jump into complex work problems.
Life is hectic, challenging and full of stresses. Taking care of yourself during the work week is so important. You'll feel and perform better if you prioritize yourself!
