83% OF SPEAKERS DON'T TRACK SALES CONVERSATIONS⁣⁣

83% OF SPEAKERS DON'T TRACK SALES CONVERSATIONS⁣⁣

Statistic is taken from SpeakerFlow Speaking Industry Report 2020

⁣⁣

⁣⁣To be fair, most speakers aren't having any sales conversations to track 🤦‍♀️ (that's a story for another day).⁣⁣ Especially those who periodically get on stages because it's a side gig to their main business.

This may explain why most people don't understand the difference between a sales CRM and marketing CRM tool.⁣⁣

Yes ---- there is a difference.⁣⁣

⁣⁣A MARKETING CRM - is designed to track an individual based on an action they've taken. E.g. downloaded a lead magnet. It's generally very deeply associated with an email list. It allows you to segment your list and market based on certain activities.⁣⁣

⁣⁣It's not suitable to track traditional off-system sales of people out of a mailing list.⁣⁣

⁣⁣For example; that contact you make at a networking event and start an email conversation with, then have a phone call to discuss details of their event - is a classic example of what a marketing CRM is not designed to handle this scenario.⁣⁣

It's not designed to remind you that you said you'd touch base in 6 months, or precisely what you quoted.⁣⁣

This is what your SALES CRM is designed for.⁣⁣

It's not that one is better than another, it's that they do completely different things.⁣⁣

⁣⁣Trying to force marketing CRM to do what a sales CRM is designed for is like putting winter tyres (with the chains) on a car in the summer. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣It's clunky at best!⁣⁣

⁣⁣Unless you've worked in B2B sales teams, you simply would not have come across this before.⁣⁣

That said, it's a huge opportunity for the Female Speaker wanting to get ahead and secure bookings efficiently and with scale.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Generate A LOT of sales conversations and effectively track them. You'll be doing better than 83% of those in the market! It's not often the solution is so simple.

The great news is that setting up a Sales CRM is a core pillar covered on the Find Speaking Gigs Accelerator.  This is my signature programme in which I train female business owners to grow their business by securing speaking engagements. Because you'll be generating so many sales conversations, setting up a system to track these conversations is fundamental.
