9 benefits of minimalism lifestyle!!

“We buy things that we don't need with money that we don't have to impress people that we don't like.” -Dave Ramsey

Minimalism is a tool helps to achieve more focus, productivity and success in Your life!! Being Minimalist is the way to your freedom to the things that matter most in your life! Owning less will lead you to greater contentment and greater contentment will lead you to freedom to the things that matter you most.

We all are consumers and living in the world of consumption. We have been layered by the thought process one by one by watching ads and promotional videos, the more you have the more you will be happy. And we are busy in chasing money 9 to 5 and paying bills. I agree there are many things that we need to survive like rent or mortgage, food suppliers or other necessary things. But there are many things that you are buying to have collection and impress other people more than we need.

We are not focusing on the things that really matter to us!! Why? Because we always have something to chase, earning money and buying things and filling our home with lot of things.

Earning money is right for the sources that help to live and survive. But earning money that you are chasing to buy unnecessary things. That is not even helping your productivity and managing them is one of the time-consuming parts. We all need limited things to live, survive and be happy, beyond that we are not using money the right way.

We can not get happiness only from others’ appreciation. Our self-worth is not decided by others’ opinions, Happiness is in being not having lot of things, lot of advertisements tell you owning these things will make you happy!!

Shopping make us happy and when we buy them and look at the home, there are many things that we didn’t use for a long time!! We spend our time and energy to manage them. It is taking your time, money, and energy. I have seen it at my home, there are many things that I bought and very less use. Being a woman we love shopping, when we saw it is on sale, we will buy it either we have use or not we will buy it

It is a Myth that the more stuff we own the more we will be happy. We don’t need a lot to be happy, in fact , true happiness comes to the fulfillment of your soul’s purpose.

For Example-

 1. You can be more happy and fulfilled to eat your one favorite food rather than filling your plate with different kinds of food.

2.When you go to a mall, you will see many stores and that is more confusing and time and energy drainer. Instead when will love to go to a small store, you can buy things in minimum time and energy

Now I choose my path to become minimalist. That helped me a lot to be focused on the things that really matters in my life. It helped me to improve my productivity and much more benefits,

 Benefits of Minimalism

There are many advantages of Minimalism, few of them are given below-

  1. Productive
  2. Focused
  3. Saving Time and energy
  4. Save money
  5. Environment Protection
  6. Stress free
  7. More happiness and Joy
  8. No pressure to impress others
  9. Kids learn while watching

  1. Productive

You feel more productive and can do things a lot when you have less things to take care. For example- When you see your office desk full of mess and lot of things, you will not able to focus the things and you will be less productive. On the other hand a clean work place will help you to give more peace and help you to be more productive. If you will see many things at home. You have to take care and manage to all of them even those things are not adding values in your life.

2. Focused

Minimalism help you to be more focused. The more things around you the more energy and focus goes. You have work, family and kids, you need more focus on that matter you most. Minimal life improves the focus of people. I have seen many people have changed their lifestyle to minimalist to be more focus in their life.

3. Save time and energy

We all have limited time and energy. Where our focus goes, our energy goes. As per an average people have 70 to 80 years life. If we spent our whole life in managing them, we will lose our precious time which we could spend with family, your loved ones and the things that matter to you most. Our energy is limited if you are wasting your life in owning many things, its going to take your lot of energy.

4. Save Money

Minimalism help you to save more money that you can spend in more meaningful way. You have no pressure to buy more things. You know your need and what is important to live your life. You can invest that money in other things that are important like doing the courses, traveling and the passion that you you need to flourish.

5. Environment Protection

If you are using less things, you will buy less things and donate the things that people need most. It will help you to less consumption of natural resources and help in environment protection. It compels me more when I see by using less products we can contribute to make environment healthy and reserve natural resources. For Example- It takes 2,700 liters to make just one shirt, that water can be used in other people who really need it. It just one example there are so many things that takes so much consumption of natural resources.

6. Stress Free

When you see the things messed up all around, you feel stressed instantly. You love the place which is clean and organized. When you have minimum things, you will have less things to take care and it will help you to get rid of stress. The more thing you will accumulate, the more focus work and time you need to manage them as I mentioned earlier, you will have stress free life.

7. More Happiness and Joy

You will have more joy and happiness in your life, when you will have less things to manage. It will give you time to spend in your personal growth, family and building relationships. You can do what you want to love and passionate about. You will have more time and money to do your hobby and the things matter to you most.

8. No pressure to impress others

It is old saying the people who own more are richest and wealthy people. People follow this pattern blindly. They buy and own more things to impress others even they don’t have money. That belief system continues continues, people want to impress others and always under pressure of comparison. When you will choose the life of minimalism, you will not any pressure to maintain high lifestyle. You will have satisfaction that they are happy in their life, and you are happy with your life and own things what you really need.

9. Kids learn while watching

Last but not the least, kids learn the things while watching. When they are watching they learn the same way, you not only help you to improve your life but help the next generation to make their life better. Kids will learn how to use the things which they really need. They will develop the great habits of using minimum things and saving money.

I personally inspired by the Joshua Becker, The author of Things that matters, The more of less, and the minimalist home. He has written many blogs on Minimalism.

The bottom line is that minimalism is consuming and owning important and less material things!! We are humans, living in a society, we need things to survive and live our life, but there are many people who still chasing and doing collections of unnecessary things. Do not effect by them, its okay if you change the way that is right for you and lot of people are not getting you. There is always one person who brings change. It can be you. Enjoy the minimalism lifestyle, be productive and be focused.
