Accelerating the generative AI industrial revolution at largest-ever HPE Discover event

Bold innovation unveiled at HPE Discover will enable enterprises to capture AI opportunity

As Hewlett Packard Enterprise Discover 2024 draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on one of the most monumental weeks in our company’s history. Bringing together our customers, partners and team members from around the world is always special, but this year we turned things up a notch.

For the first time, we combined HPE Discover with Aruba Atmosphere, taking attendee levels to a new record of more than 14,000. We expanded the HPE Discover Showcase to a record scale, with seven acres of HPE technology to interact with and more live demonstrations than ever before. And, on Tuesday, we welcomed our customers and partners to the first-ever corporate keynote at Sphere.

Big moments require big venues. The world’s most immersive venue, Sphere , was the perfect location to make bold announcements that will accelerate the generative AI industrial revolution. This new innovation from HPE and our partners will bring us closer to the potential and promise of AI and catapult the enterprise of today and tomorrow to new heights.

My goal is to make HPE the complete AI solution partner for any enterprise. When we connect everything inside the enterprise – from edge to cloud – transformation happens, and intelligence is limitless.

Your trusted partner in AI

As we accelerate into the AI era, even greater innovation will be required to empower our customers’ success.

At HPE Discover, I was delighted to be joined on stage at Sphere by Jensen Huang , founder and CEO of NVIDIA , to announce how we are taking our decades-long partnership to new heights and discuss how, together, we can address the unique challenges that enterprises face with AI.

We are all aware of the transformative power of AI, but AI is complicated. This is why we announced NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE, a portfolio of co-developed AI solutions and joint go-to-market integrations that enable enterprises to accelerate adoption of generative AI.

Among the portfolio’s key offerings that Jensen and I announced is HPE Private Cloud AI, a first-of-its-kind turnkey private cloud solution for AI. The solution provides the deepest integration to date of NVIDIA AI computing, networking, and software with HPE’s AI storage, AI servers, and the HPE GreenLake cloud. It enables enterprises of every size to gain an energy-efficient, fast, and flexible path for sustainably developing and deploying GenAI applications. The deployment and management experience is incredibly simple … plug it in, login to HPE GreenLake cloud, and three clicks and 24 seconds later, data science and IT Ops teams are instantly collaborating and innovating together.

This is more than a new solution; it is a new way of doing business. All NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE offerings and services are available through a joint go-to-market strategy that spans sales, channels, training and a global network of system integrators – including Deloitte , HCLTech , Infosys , TCS and Wipro – that can help enterprises across a variety of industries and run complex AI workloads.

Delivering it all with HPE GreenLake

A hybrid strategy is critical for AI. Enterprises must orchestrate hundreds of microservices, multiple AI models, specific accelerators, and connect many different data sources, all of which are highly distributed across their hybrid IT estate.

At the same time, enterprises must maintain data governance, regulatory compliance, and security end-to-end, making on-premises private clouds essential in the hybrid mix.

HPE GreenLake is our leading hybrid cloud offering that brings the cloud to customers and connects their businesses.

At HPE Discover, we announced our new HPE virtualization capability delivered by HPE GreenLake to offer customers greater choice. It combines an industry-standard KVM hypervisor that has been hardened for enterprise with HPE’s innovative cluster orchestration software to support the high performance and availability requirements of enterprise workloads. It complements the HPE Ezmeral software container services and extends to cloud-native and AI workloads. This is something that customers have been asking for, and represents a natural evolution for our HPE GreenLake cloud portfolio.

We also unveiled game-changing innovation to our industry-leading multi-cloud and multi-vendor observability platform OpsRamp . Among the enhancements is a new AI Operations Copilot, a powerful AI model that doesn't just analyze large datasets but transforms them into actionable insights through a generative AI conversational assistant. This innovation turbocharges productivity and efficiency for customers’ IT operations.

And, to provide more security observability across customers’ workloads, we announced a new integration with CrowdStrike APIs, so customers can see a unified service-map view of endpoint security across their entire infrastructure and applications.

We are not just keeping pace with the future of AI Ops -- we are leading the industry.

Preparing for the power requirements of AI

As we look forward, the next generation of accelerated compute silicon will require more power density, which means AI systems will generate significant heat and waste.

HPE is at the forefront of applying the latest liquid cooling technology with more than two decades of experience and 300+ patents. Today, HPE has seven of the top ten supercomputers on the Green 500 list, in part due to our liquid cooling leadership.

At HPE Discover, we announced a new energy-efficient data center solution from HPE and Danfoss. It includes HPE’s scalable Modular Data Centers (MDC), which are small footprint, high-density containers that can be deployed nearly anywhere, as well as Danfoss ’ heat reuse modules that capture excess heat from data centers to provide renewable heating onsite and to neighboring buildings and industries.

We are driving innovation that considers the impact on the planet for future generations.

Intelligence has no limits

For more than 80 years HPE has been at the forefront of innovation – yet, I feel like we are just getting started with what is possible. Our 60,000 team members around the world are laser focused on helping our customers and partners realize their ambitions.

HPE Discover 2024 was a major milestone for our company, and I am invigorated by how these groundbreaking solutions and services will advance the way we all live and work.

I believe that intelligence has no limits. And when intelligence and ambition come together, they create an undeniable force that enables our customers to achieve their goals and realize their dreams.
