Adding to the credit side

Adding to the credit side

Recently I have been talking to some of my clients about their plans as we head towards the holiday period. In the main they have been keeping to their plan and slowly losing weight but all were worried about what they would do as we approach a traditional period of eating, drinking and general over indulgence. I talked them through this part of my plan.

At home we class the first of December is the start of Christmas and I allow myself a bit extra, and maybe a slight weight gain for the first week. Then I start to focus on the Christmas excess period. I up my exercise very slightly, maybe an extra class or an extra 20 minutes on my hula hoop. Then I add these amounts to the few days of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. This means that I am being carful but also adding credit into my bank account.

I also remind myself, quite often, that the actual holiday period is only a few days. In addition I don’t buy things that I don’t need for the actual meals involved. Do I need a cheese board and pudding and mince pies? No. I don’t buy:

·      a cheese board because no one will notice, or care, and I won’t be tempted to devour any leftovers.

·      Christmas mince pies, Christmas pudding or Christmas cake and this also makes me everyone’s best friend because, after Christmas if anyone offers me any of these things I go “Owww yes” Not “Oh no”

Actually we have a large turkey dinner (Mainly a low calorie meal) and then a few hours later, when the tummies are getting empty we have jam roly-poly and loads of custard, yum! We also have selection boxes open at breakfast and biscuits and chocolates available, but only one can be open at a time. I also put them on the other side of the room so, in my mind, I’m doing some steps!

I remember I have some exercise credits which I have built up doing a little bit more in the days before.

And if the whole plan crashes and burns? Then I just remember that I have a plan, I can return to it any time I want, then I relax and open another choccy!
