The advanced gameplay of perforated boards in various countries!
Hello everyone!
As a metal building material, perforated panels are inherently avant-garde. Now they are widely used in architecture, landscape, indoor and outdoor decoration to create a fashionable and modern aesthetic
The perforated plate is a metal plate with holes. The material is mostly stainless steel plate, aluminum plate, iron plate, copper plate and so on.
It is processed by punching machine or milling machine. It has the characteristics of long service life and no deformation.
The hole size and pattern of the punching plate can be processed and designed according to the needs, and the holes of different sizes, densities and shapes can form different translucent sight effects
△Different hole patterns of perforated plate
The hole types of the punching plate are: rectangular hole, square hole, diamond hole, round hole, oblong hole, hexagonal hole, cross hole, triangular hole, long waist hole, plum blossom hole, fish scale hole, pattern hole, splayed net,
Herringbone hole, pentagram hole, irregular hole, drum hole, special-shaped hole, louver hole, etc.
Two methods of perforation are commonly used in modern times:
"CNC Punch Perforation"
CNC punching machine is a relatively common perforation method, which uses machine tool punching to punch holes on the metal surfaceStamping process allows rapid perforation of large surface areas in metal screens and panels
"Laser perforation"
Laser perforation is the latest development in perforation technology, but it is also a relatively expensive and complicated technology. It has higher precision and randomness.
There are many materials for perforated panels. The materials are mostly stainless steel plate, aluminum plate, iron plate, copper plate and so on.
Perforated metal panels can be made into different shapes and sizes according to the needs of architects, and can be connected and combined in a variety of ways.
Let's take a look at the advanced usage of perforated panels in building facades.

Curved inwards to create a rich sense of space
A Thousand Plateaus Observation Deck/Design by Emer-sys
Location: South Korea
The design of the observation deck turns the process of ascending the observation deck into a rich visual and physical experience. Curved aluminum panels cover the entire observation deck. The holes in the perforated aluminum panels are shaped like thousands of drops of water. Its diameter varies from 0.5 cm to 3 cm, ensuring a 70 % open aperture at eye level. The inwardly bent perforated aluminum panels have their own structural rigidity, and the fixtures supporting the corridor floors are minimized. In addition, these curved surfaces elicit a rich variety of light rays: such as reflections, passing and overlapping, depending on the viewing angle. These variations, together with the massing of the interior's heavy concrete core, create a rich sense of depth at all times of the day
02.Staggered splicing of positive and negative arcs, concise and clear
Qizhong Garden Office Building/Overall Building
Location: Foshan
"Seven Gardens" is a renovation project located in Foshan. The original building was a hotel completed in the early days of reform and opening up. The design retains the original trapezoidal pick-up plate to support the curved perforated plate of the same specification, and the façade adopts the staggered splicing method of positive arc and reverse arc of the perforated plate to create a concise and lively architectural image.

Splicing of wavy aluminum plates, jumping mosaic
Vanke Wuyang Port Apartment / Room Design
Location: Guangzhou
The facade of the building is wrapped with wavy perforated aluminum panels extending from both ends of the atrium to the exterior.
The punching style strives to echo the splicing mosaic of the original building facade. "Lighten" the entire building with translucent cladding and lighting. With a light "rhythm" and jumping block divisions, it welcomes the busy traffic outside the room and forms a dialogue with the city.

Use natural light to create extreme light and shadow
Late Mohamed Abdulkhaliq
Gargash Mosque / Dabbagh Architects
Location: Dubai
It is a contemporary place of worship. The designer's masterful use of form, material and control of natural light creates a calming spiritual connection. Starting from the outdoor entrance of the mosque, bounded by sunlight through the perforated panels. Worshipers are ushered into the ablution area where they cleanse their bodies to clear their minds of distracting thoughts and prepare them for prayer. The path continues into the hall space. As people take off their shoes, traces of the material world are further stripped away.

Random interlacing of perforated aluminum panels and casing windows
Dalian Thirty Seven Phases / UUA Design
Location: Dalian
The project is located in the core area of the old city of Dalian. Transformed from an abandoned factory. As the most important and prominent element of the curtain wall, the white perforated aluminum panel group is designed to be warped.
And the punching rate of the aluminum plate gradually decreases with the warping, and transitions to a solid aluminum plate.
This combination of forms is reminiscent of the surge of waves, or the cascading sails.
On the side of the warped aluminum plate, the colored glaze glass with stripes and gradients is used to superimpose more delicate layers.
