Adventures in Atlanta: My Favorite Finds from FinCon 🎉
Just back from FinCon in Atlanta, and I have to say—WOW! From networking with financial wizards to discovering hidden gems, it was an absolute goldmine of information and inspiration! Here’s a rundown of my favorite discoveries, in no particular order. Maybe they’ll spark some excitement for you too! 💸✨

2. Cashback Monitor 🔍
A 15-year-old cashback and rewards comparison site, run by Yansong Wang , a grad from Tsinghua University (Chinese equivalent of MIT) who single-handedly built this business! 6. George Kamel’s New Book 📚
George Kamel from the Dave Ramsey team recently launched Breaking Free From Broke. After seeing him speak, I realized he’s not just knowledgeable—he’s genuinely inspiring! Worth checking out for fresh financial insights.
In the cover photo of this article, you’ll see George on the main stage at FinCon, breaking down his learning on the rollercoaster journey to success (which I find applicable to entrepreneurship in general):
Phase 1: Uninformed Optimism 🎉
Phase 2: Informed Pessimism 🤔
Phase 3: Valley of Despair 😩
Phase 4: Informed Optimism 😊

7. Ramit Sethi’s Upcoming Book on Couples & Money 💑
Money for Couples is Ramit Sethi ’s new book. It's all about navigating finances in relationships, launching later this year. I’m excited to see his take on a topic I’m also passionate about. If you haven’t seen his Netflix special How to Get Rich, it’s a must-watch for financial newbies and veterans alike!
8. Rob Berger’s YouTube Channel 🎥
Rob Berger is a financial content OG! He built Doughroller.net, sold it, “retired,” and then came back to build Forbes Advisor. His YouTube channel is all about the no-frills, no-nonsense approach, and yet he has over 230K subscribers. No thumbnails, no fancy edits—just pure, valuable content. Check it Out

11. Chef Kameel’s Restaurant 🍲
If you’re ever in Atlanta, you HAVE to try Aviva by Kameel. This little Mediterranean spot serves up seriously delicious food, and the owner only works four hours a day. Work-life balance, anyone? See the Reviews
12. FinCon: The Ultimate Money Nerd Gathering 💸
And of course, I have to shout out to FinCon itself. If you’re into finance, content creation, or just want to hang out with a bunch of money-smart folks, this is the place to be.
