Let’s dive in!

1. Start with accepting the fact that you can't do everything yourself

You think because you’re an expert at it, you should be the one to do it. This enables you to free up valuable time so that you can dedicate time to act on your ideas, grow your business and achieve greater success. Great leaders never stop learning and then training others. Investing time in training the right person to do the task will pay off in the long run. In fact, many employees consider learning and training opportunities as one of the reasons to stay with a company long-term.  2. Be proactive

Most of the entrepreneurs are ridiculously understaffed and managing way too many things ! You can't wait to delegate only when you feel like you're overwhelmed as this will only make things worse. Instead, one needs to recognise when the work is piling up too high, as early as possible, and take measures to address it before it becomes too much. That might mean hiring someone new, organising your tasks into lists, helping someone develop new skills to take on a section of your work, or simply outsourcing it to a third party.

3. Know your team’s strengths and weaknesses

Before you start assigning tasks, you need to be aware of your team’s strengths and weaknesses. Each individual is going to have different strengths and weaknesses. And you are going to want to cater to those individual quirks to get the most out of the delegation process. For example, early-stage startups rely on SMM which is a powerful tool that enables them to build their own lead generation system. You can get more details here.

4. Create a positive feedback loop

Finally, take a moment to give and receive feedback once the delegated task is complete. Let your employees know how they’ve handled it and ask what they thought of your assignment and instructions. It’s always better to take a step back and reflect on things that could have been done differently.
