Afraid to invoice customers? Purpose is the solution.
Have you had that feeling that it is hard to invoice a customer? That they will not pay you, that you should not invoice them for helping them, that the act of helping should not be financially rewarded?
Well, invoicing is getting paid, which is receiving money. Is receiving money wrong somehow? Well, we humans invented money because “paying” for wood with cows was kind of unwieldy. So we replaced it. If you think about it, money represents wood cut down and prepared and cows herded and raised. So actually, it represents work, an amount of work we can easily share, barter, pay, .. . But it does not end there. A more profound representation of money is not work but energy. Energy is the power to get work done, be it electricity or whatever gets you out of bed to get it done.
For me, it is Love; love gets me out of my bed every day. Love for my family, wife, kids, my garden, my businesses, and the Love of life itself. So actually, money is Love, and getting paid is being loved. Or, in another way, if you have a hard time getting paid, ask yourself if you have a hard time loving yourself. If so, work on that, and you will see that money comes a lot easier.
What if you feel that the help you give and the work you do should not be financially rewarded?
Well, in that case, you are saying that you are not worthy of money, and we saw that money is a proxy for love. So does a part of you think you do not deserve love? One of the ways to address the issues above is to have a purpose.
The purpose is the feeling that you were born in this world for a reason. The feeling that you were meant to be here. Some people have it from a young age, and others look for it for a long time or never find it—what a horrible way to live your life.
The purpose is always aligned with the talents you have as a person. And by talents, we mean not the school definition. A talent answers the following question: what can you do all day whilst remaining energised? What things do you do at work, home, and with friends that give you more energy than it costs? Please just reflect on that, and you will be closer to finding your purpose. So if you have a good idea of what your talents are and have been using them regularly, it comes easily. So easy that you can not help but love what you are doing at that moment. So if you love what you are doing, then you love yourself. If you see that, why not go all the way and ask for money for what you do? Because money is love, you are allowing yourself to be loved by being paid.
Knowing your talents is different from knowing your purpose; knowing your purpose is knowing where to apply your talents. What are you going to do with your talents?
How can you use your talents for something worthwhile that you feel is aligned with your deeper self? Thank you for reading this post; I hope it gave you something to reflect on. If you'd like to learn more about finding your Purpose, feel free to reply to this post.

1yInteresting! I like the idea that this builds trust in cooperative companies. And important to invoice and get paid. Something any business owner needs to live by, and to respect!

2yTrue, 80% of 'problems' in a business are, in fact, mental blockages of the business owner Cool shot, who took it?
