Africa is calling - please don't ignore this

Connecting with Africa has been one of the most impactful elements of my life and in the life of my family. When my oldest son Ian McManus felt he was drawn to Africa as a young man I followed with interest, but my personal interests were elsewhere. When I saw the impact that Africa made on him I wanted to get involved. It has transformed my life and my perspective.

Uganda 15 years ago was among the 5 poorest counties in the world. To be born there could mean to be born without hope to have a chance of a meaningful life. That, to me, is a profound injustice. You should not be denied access to create for yourself a meaningful life on the basis of your station at birth. To have a hand in creating hope - even if for one person - is everything to me.

Engage Hope

Engage Hope creates connections with people in the USA to people in Uganda. This can come in the form of your sponsoring a child - directly supporting their education and care. They also facilitate impactful in-country visits. Rural mobile medical interventions, malnutrition outreaches, dental and vision clinics, pregnancy and early childhood medical care, support for church construction projects, and pastor training.

We engage through and in collaboration with in-country ministry partners led by Ugandans.

We find ourselves with many opportunities to intercede and help but we are out of financial resources to do so.
