After You Reach The Goal, Will You Continue? The Follow-Through After A Challenge
For the past 30 days, I have been both part of a Challenge, and helping others through a Challenge.
What was the Challenge?
Write for 30 Days in a Row.
Now, I've written for over 400 Days Straight now, and this is the 5th time I've done this particular Challenge, so really I joined to Help Support New Digital Writers.
It is awesome to see people just starting their new journey.
Some are filled with trepidation, perhaps for the first time sharing their Ideas with the public.
Others have had some Experience with sharing, but have had challenges with Consistency - much like I did when I first started this Challenge.
Whichever it is, many of these individuals have now reached the Goal Line!
They have finished 30 Days of Writing in a Row!
If you are one of those Individuals, CONGRATULATIONS!
If you are not, join me in Applauding them!
Now, I have a very Important Question for those of you who have recently Reached your Goal...
Will you Continue?
There is no Right or Wrong answer to this.
However, whichever you decide, make sure that it is an INTENTIONAL Choice.
There will be some people who will not post another article/story today.
Sadly, for many of them, it will not be an Intentional Choice.
They had a build-up of Anxiety and Excitement that led them all the way to the Goal Line, and Boom!
They did it!
Then... a month down the line... two months... a year later... nothing else.
If you ask them Why, they won't be able to tell you.
The Reality is that they simply thought the Goal Line was it - there was nothing else to it.
But will that Serve them well?
Well, let's think about it Intentionally.
Are there good reasons to end it?
Absolutely!
If you Despised the Process every day?
If you felt unable to get Creativity out of it?

If it took you Countless Hours to Write and you never Shrunk your Time Frame?
If you found any of these to be what occurred for you, then it is ok to say that you don't want to do it anymore.
Nothing is for everyone, and if you found Writing not to be "your thing", then I get it!
As long as you Learned something along the way, it will still have been worth it.
Just make sure that your choice is Intentional to End your streak, and go looking for whatever is "your thing".
Now, if that WASN'T you.
If you Enjoyed the Process of Writing?
If you found yourself becoming more Creative along the Way?
If you were Beginning to get Better and Better as you Wrote more?
If Writing felt like a Freeing Experience as you Boldly went Forth?
Then I have a Suggestion for you.
Don't Stop Now!
30 Days is Great, but it is not enough to change your Life.
The Reality is if you stop now, even for a small Period of Time, you will kill your Momentum.
If you want to Maximize the Impact of the past 30 Days, I would Encourage you to continue to at least 66 Days.
Why 66 Days?
That is the average amount of time for a Habit to set in.
If you stop "before" it becomes a Habit, it will take you longer to make it into a Habit.
Each stop, even if it is just for a weekend, will prolong the Process.
But if you keep going, turning it into a Habit will Unlock new levels of Possibility.
The longer you stick with something, the more you stick out to the World.
You never know who is watching you and paying attention to your work.
The more Consistent you are, the more people will take your Work Seriously.
The more this happens, the more you become Trusted.
THAT is something Excessively Valuable in today's World.
Don't take the Work you put in so far for granted.
Use it as a Catalyzing Force toward Future Results!
