Agathe Molinar on how to run a business with 3 kids, empowering women and recharging the batteries at Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda.

Whether it’s in wellness, fashion or tech, there’s no question that Agathe Molinar is an absolute force. Seize Mai, her latest venture launched in 2021, isn’t her first rodeo. Serial entrepreneur and mom of three, Agathe has lived major changes in her life, and always mastered the pivot.

As the founder and CEO of the taboo-breaking wellness company Seize Mai, Agathe Molinar is working to revolutionize the way women take care of themselves. But before she was giving esthetic medicine a major upgrade, Agathe became widely known as the founder of two other companies,  EasyLife Pack and Lemon Curve. Still finding her footing as a working mom of three, Agathe has nonetheless undoubtedly found her vocation as a business owner, paving a new path in the esthetic and wellness industry.

Here, we speak with her about never losing sight of her woman-empowering mission, becoming a mother, and her life-changing escape at Club Med, Michès Playa Esmeralda.

You went to ESCP Business School. Did you always want to be an entrepreneur?

Yes, I've always wanted that. When I was little, I already wanted to have my own business, I can't really say why.

You launched a moving service platform, the multi-brand distributor Lemon Curve, and now Seize Mai. How do you stay inspired and innovative?

I am very curious, and I am interested in many different sectors, it is quite natural for me. I dig a lot!

What is your mission today with Seize Mai?

What drives me is the desire to do good, and it is the common thread of all my projects. With first company of moving services, I wanted to accompany and simplify a pivotal moment, with Lemon Curve, I wanted to create lingerie that encourages self-confidence and with Seize Mai, I want to rhyme an esthetic act with an act of well-being and convey the idea that to take the step of esthetic medicine is to do yourself good above all.

What's the greatest risk you've taken?

You can't be an entrepreneur if you don't have a taste for risk. Today I have three children and several loans so the risk is above all financial. But I need to feel at risk, it's stimulating for me. The risk of making a mistake, of finding yourself faced with failure, of questioning your ability to do things is necessary.

What are the most important lessons you learned?

In business, you have to look for recurrence and create trust. I also learned that it was very important to have a vision, to be its guardian all while knowing how to adapt and be flexible. I never change the manifesto, but I learned how to adapt and to listen to feedback.

What kind of boss and what kind of mother are you?

As a boss, I listen, I like to work in a team. It is the team that makes a company. When you are a good manager, you have to grow your teams and look people with complementary skills. I try to be inspired and inspiring, and to share my vision to engage those around me.

As a mom, I'm committed, I get things done, I'm present even if I work a lot. I get involved to build a strong bond, accompany them, transmit the right values, transmit the resources that will allow them to grow and transmit a lot of love.

Is it hard to run your own brand when you have 3 kids?

I don't see it as a difficulty, but it is a challenge to find your balance. We can't be everywhere so I'm learning to organize myself. I live my moments to the fullest with my children, so I don’t feel as guilty about working a lot. I was passed on very strong work ethics, but I have seen the emergence since I became a mother of the need to be with my children, the need to have something stronger in my life. I know that accepting to be a mom does not mean I have to disengage from my business, but I am still navigating this and haven't quite found the right balance yet. My needs have evolved. Until I was 33, I was super hardworking, but now I'm more than just that. I am also a mother.

Tell me about your trip to Club Med, Michès Playa Esmeralda.

We were left with the choice of destination and as we wanted sunshine, we chose Michès Playa Esmeralda. We left with two of the three children and we really wanted to enjoy. The strength of Club Med is that you get what you expect. We were able to have moments alone, moments as a couple, and moments with our children, all this in a context where everything is done to make things go smoothly. It's not just a trip, it really is a vacation. The infrastructure is incredible, we recharged our batteries, and my husband even rode a horse for the first time ever!

A vacation like that is part of the balance I was talking about: it's complicated to create it but you have to make space for it before you're exhausted. Now, I realize how important it is. Thank you Club Med!
