Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Gratitude Practice? …

… Practicing gratitude is healthy for you including reducing inflammation, improving immunity, …

But did you know that most of the recommended gratitude practices are not as effective as they could be?

It turns out that receiving gratitude might have a bigger impact on your nervous system, your brain, and health in general than giving it to others or trying to ‘just’ feel gratitude.

Just this week, for instance, I had received a note from one of my coachees who had been struggling with dry eyes for many years:

“Hi Ines, just wanted to share with you a piece of good news! I have now taken the maqui berry extract for 4 weeks and I had an appointment with my eye doctor today. He was super surprised and said that he has never seen anything like this before, my eyes are almost normal :) Thank you!!!!!”

I cannot describe how deeply this impacts me, how grateful I feel for having been able to help and receiving this message. It makes me tear up. It gives me goosebumps. It’s so amazing!

Unfortunately, we cannot tell people to tell us how grateful they‘re for something we‘ve done, for who we are. It might not feel as genuine.

Thankfully, there‘s another way Dr Andrew Huberman recommended in one of his podcasts

  • Look for a powerful story that inspires you, a story where somebody needs help and gets it in a way that deeply touches your heart. A story that is meaningful to you. Science shows that this creates a genuine feeling of uplift

OR

Think about a time when somebody was thankful for something you had done & how that made you feel

  • Take a notebook, a piece of paper and write down … in short bullet points …

– What was the struggle?

– What was the help?

– How did this impact you emotionally?

  • You can write new notes or if you ‘just’ want a boost, use your notes to feel yourself into the experience of gratitude … whenever you got a moment to spare. 1, 2 or 3 minutes 2 or 3 times a week is fully sufficient to get great benefits for your health.

Are You Feeling a Little Down … or Maybe Even Suffer from Depression? …

… Try some infrared sauna.

Even just one session can make you feel better, and the effect might well last for 6 weeks (study).

Preparing For and Demanding Your Future …

… The current healthcare … or as I call it … sickcare system is broken.

It only ‘cares’ about you once you’re sick … most of the time too late to truly reverse any damage that has been done.

Worse though, it measures you on ‘standards’ that are based on a population that is … on average … sick. So, not a great measure at all!

What we need and what I’m cheering for and doing myself for decades is optimizing our health, so we can prevent diseases in the first place … and with that actually slow aging and even if we would not be able to extend lifespan, we can certainly expand our healthspan.

But even though there are many approaches and technologies already out there that can make a tremendous difference to our health right now, most people … not even doctors … know about it.

So, what we need … and that is part of my mission with Jeunessima Magazine, Jeunessima Academy, Younger Every Day Wisdom Days, … and really everything I do … is for everybody to KNOW what is possible, what exists ... and then ask … or even better demand … that their doctors, insurances, … educate themselves to help YOU in the best way possible.

Peter Diamandis is one of the people I respect most for being at the forefront of what is going on in the field.

Together with Tony Robbins, he just published the book Life Force: How New Breakthroughs in Precision Medicine Can Transform the Quality of Your Life & Those You Love.

While the book is primarily written from Tony’s perspective, it’s the connections & knowledge Peter … and leading experts from around the world have contributed that make this book a good read … from having a future-oriented longevity mindset to tackling the top 6 killers like inflammation, heart & brain issues, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, cancer, … to identifying actions you can take right now, … to what you’ll be able to do in the future.

 Enjoy the read!
