The Agile Gold Rush
Why think twice before buying the latest Agile Framework course?
Ahhhh, Agile methodologies... The miracle cure for all project management headaches, the magic framework that promises to transform the chaotic development process into a seamless and efficient operation... But before we rush to spend our hard-earned cash for the latest Agile magical course, let's take a moment to reflect, shall we??
The Ancient Wisdom of 2001
First of all, let's remember: the Agile Manifesto was written in 2001! And based on concepts that were already around for decades before that... So, when you see a course promising to teach you the "latest and greatest" in Agile methodologies, you might want to ask yourself: how much has really changed since then?
Basics Never Get Tired
The core principles of Agile are timeless: individuals and interactions over processes and tools, working software over comprehensive documentation, customer collaboration over contract negotiation, and responding to change over following a plan. But in the real world, sometimes we need contracts, documentations etc... or we won't sell our products/services if the customer is not willing to accept an agile approach in delivering?? Instead, the very foundation of Agile is not about Speed, but ADAPTABILITY! And guess what? And guess what? Knowing this doesn't require a $2,000 course to understand.
Adaptation Over Adoption
Here's a radical thought: instead of blind our eyes and adopt every new Agile framework that magically comes along, why not focus on ADAPTING the basic principles to fit our unique context? The beauty of Agile lies in its flexibility. It's not a plug-and-play solution, and it never was meant to be.... and it requires hardwork! So, before we use big bucks for that "certified" Agile course, consider spending some time understanding our own team's dynamics and challenges. Tailoring the principles to our needs rather than trying to impose a pre-packaged solution. Courses are important for rookies, but try out those focusing in the very principles of Agile...
The True Magic: Product Discovery
Now, let's talk about something that often gets forgotten by the Agile hype: Product Discovery!!! While Agile methodologies focus on how to build things right, Product Discovery is about building the right things. It's about understanding our users/customers, validating ideas, testing hypothesis, and ensuring that what we're building actually solves a problem, delivers value! In other words, it's the foundation upon which successful Agile practices are built.

Why Product Discovery Matters More
I might have the most Agile team in the world, but if we're building the wrong product, all that agility is for nothing... Product Discovery helps us avoiding this pitfall by ensuring that we focus on the right problems and opportunities. It involves techniques like user research, prototyping, and validation - all of which are crucial for creating products that people actually want to use.
Bottom Line
So, before we get swept up in the "Agile gold "rush and spend a fortune on the latest course, let's take a step back. Focus on the principles of Agile, ADAPT them to our unique business context, and invest our time and resources in Product Discovery. Because at the end of the day, building the right product is far more important than following the latest Agile stuff.
In conclusion, surely investing in education and training is key... but let's be skeptical at the same time about those shiny new Agile courses that promise to revolutionize our workflow!!! Let's save our money (or spend it wisely), use our brain, and build something that truly matters....
