AI eats Frogs for Breakfast!

AI eats Frogs for Breakfast!

In the world of productivity, "eating the frog" means tackling your most significant, most daunting tasks first thing in the morning. Derived from Brian Tracy's influential book, the idea suggests that if you do your biggest, hardest task first, the rest of your day will feel easier and more productive by comparison. But what happens when even the thought of that "frog" makes you want to run for the hills?

Enter Artificial Intelligence (AI) – your new breakfast companion that's more than ready to help you devour those frogs.

Before we dive into AI's capabilities, let's look at the tasks that we often postpone:

  • Complex Email Responses: Crafting thoughtful replies to complex emails can be time-consuming, making it a common task to delay.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Sifting through data to generate reports requires attention and effort, leading many to procrastinate.
  • Content Creation: From writing blog posts to preparing presentations, the creative demands of content creation can be daunting.
  • Administrative Tasks: Scheduling, invoicing, and other administrative duties often fall by the wayside in favor of more engaging tasks.

Starting to sound familiar? Well, AI technology can significantly lighten the load, helping you tackle these tasks with less dread and more efficiency:

  • Email Management: AI email assistants can prioritise your inbox, suggest replies, or even draft responses for you, making the task of managing complex emails less overwhelming.
  • Data Analysis: AI tools can analyse large datasets, identify trends, and generate reports, turning hours of work into a few clicks and allowing you to understand your data without diving deep into spreadsheets.
  • Content Generation: AI-powered writing assistants can help overcome writer's block by suggesting ideas, creating drafts, or even generating entire articles based on a few prompts. Similarly, presentation software can design slides based on your content, making the task less time-consuming.
  • Scheduling and Administrative Tasks: AI schedulers can find suitable meeting times for all participants without the back-and-forth emails, while AI invoicing software can automate billing, saving precious time.

Some tools we suggest:

An AI tool like Microsoft’s Copilot can automatically handle meeting scheduling by communicating with participants to find a suitable time, acting like a personal assistant.

GPT-3, an advanced language model, can generate content ranging from emails to blog drafts, aiding in content creation with surprising creativity and coherence.

Tools like Tableau or Power BI, enhanced with AI, can effortlessly analyse data and generate insightful visual reports, making data analysis a breeze.

These are just some of the tools that are at our disposal!

By leveraging AI to "eat the frog," you're not only ensuring these tasks get done, but you're also enabling a more productive, less stressful work environment for yourself.

Imagine signing off your AI-handled emails, reviewing AI-generated reports, or finalising AI-assisted content creation before your second cup of coffee. This is not a distant future; it's a very achievable present. The key is to identify the tools that best fit your needs and integrate them into your daily routine.

Don't let daunting tasks weigh you down. Embrace AI as your secret weapon to tackle them head-on. Explore AI tools and platforms that resonate with your specific "frogs" and incorporate them into your morning routine. Not only will you set yourself up for a happier, more fulfilled day, but you'll also lead by example in harnessing technology to elevate productivity and well-being in the workplace.

Remember, in the age of AI, those frogs don't stand a chance.

“Eat the Frog” 👎🏼 🐸 is no longer available as a productivity mindset as all frogs are now eaten due to LinkedIn obedience. Want to 17.5X your productivity? Good. Why such a specific number you ask? Because it’s more than 10X and also more than 13X. (Some argue it’s more than 15.7X but I’m yet to be convinced by the science). 10X is also very boring. ⚠️ Introducing “Eat the Log 🪵” Begin by: > manually entering data into a 4000 line Excel™️ spreadsheet. > do same on Tab 2 > do not use the AutoSum feature > commence eating a log 🪵 > determine level of dental 🦷 destruction after 2 hours of consumption > retrieve scans of your perforated digestive tract Based on the results your newly formed synapses 🧠 will ensure that you will not use Excel™️ again and therefore 17.5X your productivity. ❌♻️ Do not share this. I wish to keep the monopoly on general intelligence.

I love the frame ‘technology is moving from being a tool to being a team-mate’ (I think credit is due to Gartner for that). An additional colleague to help start tasks off, or check them over, or both!!

Really interesting read! I think AI is just so helpful to get the ball rolling on tasks where you just normally don’t know where to start. Content creation is certainly one of mine 🐸
