AI and Event Technology: Elbow Grease Meets Innovation

AI and Event Technology: Elbow Grease Meets Innovation

As excited as event marketers are to latch onto AI, many event producers have yet to make the short-term investment in time and resources required to leverage this massively impactful innovation.

Although event tech companies make it easier for event marketers to use AI with the least disruption, work is still required to unlock its full potential.

While I go into detail here about what event organizers must do to take advantage of AI now, here are the highlights:

  • AI is destined to transform business-to-business events faster than at any other time since the internet fell onto #eventprofs’ radar.
  • The way the event industry incorporates AI today differs from pre-ChatGPT days.
  • Humans play a significant role in building on the foundational capabilities of AI.
  • A trust issue still needs to be overcome between event organizers and attendees.
  • When all event tech platforms have AI capabilities, buyers will require different purchase criteria to choose among them.
  • There are bound to be great successes and spectacular failures with AI and events. Solid technology partners can make a difference.

Kristen Koenig , RVP of Video Sales & Partnerships at RingCentral , sums up the state of AI and events: "We're at a turning point in event tech, where AI is beginning to shape the landscape. There's so much potential waiting to be unlocked!"

We’re at the beginning of an evolutionary period in the effectiveness and performance of business events. Add your comments below on the event industry’s next steps.

The way you frame this is very key because we are at the forefront despite hearing about it consistently for over a year now. We have a requirement to make sure that AI is being used ethically and responsibly.
