20% of Generative AI ‘Jailbreak’ Attacks Succeed, With 90% Exposing Sensitive Data
Generative AI jailbreak attacks, where models are instructed to ignore their safeguards, succeed 20% of the time, research has found. On average, adversaries need just 42 seconds and five interactions to break through.
In some cases, attacks occur in as little as four seconds. These findings both highlight the significant vulnerabilities in current GenAI algorithms and the difficulty in preventing exploitations in real time.
Rethinking AI: How Organisations Can Become More Sensitive & Resilient
Australian organisations and their IT teams may be “missing the point” of artificial intelligence if they focus solely on using generative AI to boost productivity and accelerate existing plans, according to a leading expert in the technology.
Martin D. Adams, an ethical AI entrepreneur and business advisor, told audiences at Sydney’s SXSW Festival in October that some AI applications touted by consulting firms like McKinsey & Company, Accenture, and Deloitte could actually be risky for organisations and miss the true value of AI.
“Their view as I understand it is to help push the idea of AI as helping us achieve business cases that are already approved, to do things we’re already doing, but to do them faster and cheaper,” Adams said.

How to Solve Memory Bottlenecks Impeding AI Apps
Artificial intelligence applications and modern processors, like GPUs, are pushing the limits of traditional data center architectures. While much attention has been given to the power and cooling demands of generative AI, the memory bottleneck limiting AI performance has often been overlooked. However, this is beginning to change as breakthroughs in memory technology pave the way for more efficient AI processing and improved performance.
