Taking inspiration from our retail client we talked about earlier in the series, our large global bricks and mortar and e-commerce marvel, where AI became the driving force behind innovative solutions.

In fact, data and AI have driven the answers and solutions to over 100 business questions and has supported initiatives of more than 1bn of value across the organisation.

By leveraging AI algorithms to understand customer preferences and behaviours, they have been able to do more, for less, attracting 11% more consumers, and have entered 2 new markets and driven new business models - including a move from pure sales to subscription and leasing services.

The retailer has not only enhanced the shopping experience, but also paved the way for creative new strategies and product offerings that set them apart in the competitive landscape, as well as driving people and planet positive impact.

The exciting by-product for the retailer is that they moved small baskets from £16.51 to £19.23 and saw an uptick in large store visits off the back of smaller shops. As well as high conversion and repeat business through better understanding customer demands and product mix, loyalty and offering subscriptions to specific products and sets of products.

This also drove a novel innovation, in that repeat business, subscriptions and confidence in forecasting, enabled a change in packaging and collecting back elements of packaging of some products for re-cycling and re-use, with an Ambassador scheme to enable key loyal, engaged customers to take part in this as micro-collection and distribution points, earning rewards and advance products.

This showcases that AI is not just a follower; it's a trendsetter, sparking innovation that propels businesses to new frontiers. As well as generating recognised, measurable value. As true Future Makers.
