AI vs Humans-Is It The End-Game?
No, it is not! While the question, “Is AI going to replace my job as a Software Engineer, HR, Accountant, etc..” goes wild on various platforms, we are here to address the issues. Read on!
Why do we fear AI?
Isn’t it simple to answer? With each new device that embraces AI, it becomes more intelligent and more pervasive in our daily lives. As a result, there is growing anxiety about AI's safety and our work's future.
We, naturally, always picture AI as replacing us in our jobs, rather than how it has been created to just help us complete our work without pondering all the manual responsibilities for too long. It is more of a HELPER than a COMPETITOR. But the human mind is tricky! We create devices, technologies, software, etc to mark our intelligence and gain credibility, but fear the evolution of it.
Hence, AI and how robots are going to "take over the world" have received too much media attention. Although AI will indeed replace some vocations and industries, it will also generate millions of new employment in untapped markets in the future. The process of moving from humans to robots must be gradual, like other technological advancements, to ensure that AI technology will prove itself as our savior and not a competitor.
We understand the uncertainty circulating in the Global Market after the entry of ChatGPT. So, here’s a list of a few reasons why AI can’t completely replace humans in the job industry:
Emotional Intelligence:
AI sure is smart, but what about the other emotional decision shifts that are essential to deal with the clients in the workspace? This makes us humans superior to the software that we create. A program only can have a handful of written codes to depict some emotions, but the other side, humans, are unpredictable.
Humans are social animals, and one fundamental, indisputable desire that they have is to feel emotionally connected to other people. While artificial intelligence (AI) aims to mirror human intelligence, emotional intelligence is more difficult to duplicate than intellectual intelligence. Why? Because AI is incapable of feeling pain, it requires empathy and a profound grasp of the human experience, including pain and suffering.
A sudden change in the data will leave AI helpless, but not humans:
Again, AI works on what has been embedded into it beforehand. It only accepts and runs the cases that have been pre-programmed and not ones that arise suddenly. So, the AI software comes to no help if the data entered into it does not provide a new field of labor or if its algorithm does not provide for unexpected events.
These circumstances are frequent in the manufacturing and tech sectors, and AI builders are continuously looking for interim solutions. One of the many prevalent misconceptions about artificial intelligence is the notion that technologies will automatically adapt to any circumstance.

AI can’t replace your work besties:
Along with the work that we need to do in the office, it is also a place where soft skills matter a lot. We need to connect with our colleagues, show our best behaviors, and handle the unsighted situations to come. A robot can’t do that. Imagine your work bestie being replaced by AI. Whom are you going to sip your tea with?
In any organization, soft skills are compulsory for every employee. To name just a few, they include collaboration, focus on detail, critical and creative thinking, effective communication, and interpersonal skills. Every industry needs these soft skills, so you must cultivate them if you want to thrive in your career. What is an AI even going to do here?
AI isn’t always correct:
And if not, it has no way to correct it all by itself. Human intervention is bound to happen here!
The fact that AI chatbots like ChatGPT frequently make mistakes and need human moderators to double-check their facts is a major issue. While AI can learn incredibly quickly, it lacks common sense and is simply unable to reason and challenge the truth to the same extent that humans can. This is why you should probably refrain from asking certain questions about AI chatbots.
Why should we not fear AI?
What’s “Artificial Intelligence” without “Human Intelligence”? These terms speak for themselves! The programming code that is used to create AI is encoded by humans. We provide the data that AI software or machines use to operate. So, it is safe to say that we order AI to work in a particular way.
Human services will become more and more in demand as AI applications expand. These machines need to be built, run, and maintained by someone who also designs the AI systems for them. This can only be done by people. These facts give you the confidence to refute any theories that AI will replace people in the workplace.
The future of artificial intelligence is nothing to fear. To avoid being replaced by AI, you must, however, step up your skills game. Brush up your skills, go by the newest trends in your industry, and be inventive and creative. You'll become a resource that no employer would potentially lose to some software.
