AI Writing OR Human Writing – A hot debate!
AI Writing OR Human Writing – A hot debate!
“In a few years artificial intelligence virtual assistants will be as common as the smart phone.” ― Dave Waters
Overview
It is a well-known fact that the use of Artificial Intelligence has gained its rhythm across industries, and now we see that it is in the lead to probably replace human writing. AI-generated content OR human writing has become one of the most talked after issue in today’s time. As seen, AI-generated content does have several advantages like quicker output, easy usage, and cost savings; however, it also raises doubts about the long-term implications of substituting humans with machines or tools for creative tasks like writing as well.
It also builds doubt on credibility and accuracy of content.
The future of content writing seems to have many potential benefits as well as drawbacks as we see AI tools making their presence in the industry.
I've had the privilege of writing for various platforms, including Entrepreneur, Buzzfeed, and Techinasia, and I've seen firsthand the profound impact of artificial intelligence on the content writing industry.
ChatGPT, for instance, has emerged as a formidable tool in the digital world. With my deep understanding of AI and digital marketing, I can't help but ponder how far AI writing has come and where it's headed. But does it measure up to human writing?
AI tools like ChatGPT can generate articles quickly, helping businesses scale from a handful to dozens of staff members in a shorter time frame. However, these tools often lack the emotional nuance and context awareness that seasoned writers bring to the table.
I believe that human writing has an irreplaceable value—something that resonates in my best-selling book, "The Unproposed Guy," and my numerous contributions to platforms like HuffPost and Forbes. The emotional depth, the intricate storytelling, the ability to adapt to cultural nuances—these are not yet replicable by any AI model.
The heart and soul poured into each piece by human writers evoke emotions in a way that artificial intelligence hasn't quite mastered. If AI writing technologies do evolve to possess such qualities, it might lead to a paradigm shift, but we're not there yet.
The Future of AI writing, however, looks promising. I've written extensively on AI, Information Technology, and Business Automation, and I've observed how machine learning algorithms are becoming more sophisticated.
With advancements in natural language processing and machine learning techniques, AI writing tools could eventually become capable of mimicking human-like writing. Still, as of now, they are best suited for generating data-driven reports or SEO-focused articles. They can assist but not replace the creative potential of a human writer.
I am sure that AI and human writing will find a harmonious coexistence. In my own experience, scaling my companies, including India's highest-rated content writing company 'Write Right,' involved automating certain aspects to cope with the demand. AI tools can help with keyword analysis, grammar checking, and even generating a draft. Meanwhile, human writers can focus on polishing these drafts, ensuring the emotional tone and context are apt. This symbiotic relationship can lead to a more efficient and effective writing process.
I'd like to think that we are on the cusp of an evolutionary milestone in content creation. My dream of writing for platforms like NYTimes, WallStreet Journal, and Forbes aligns with a future where human skills and AI capabilities blend to elevate the standards of journalism and storytelling.
Just as my companies grew from 2 to 75 team members by leveraging the best of both worlds, I envision a future where AI serves as a powerful tool in a human writer's arsenal rather than as a competitor.
The measure of this synergy will not just be in the speed or efficiency gained but in the richness and depth of the stories told. After all, the ultimate goal is to deliver content that leaves the reader not just informed but deeply moved.
85% of writers across organizations are using AI technology for article writing and content creation.
It is quite a hot and complex debate to understand whether the benefits of AI tools for diverse types of content creation are immense or they get subdued by the drawbacks of human labour replacement or producing accurate and heart-felt creative content.
There is also an ethical dilemma that is posed by using AI-generated content against works by actual persons especially in industries like education or health-care. So, today, with AI tools we witness value of human creativity and machine efficiency pertaining to the field of content writing.
It is seen today 28% of businesses have already started employing AI technology for regular content creation.
“The key to artificial intelligence has always been the representation.”– Jeff Hawkins
AI tools and their functions:
“Machine intelligence is the last invention that humanity will ever need to make.” – Nick Bostrom
It is said that "our intelligence is what makes us human, and AI is an extension of that quality". Simply put, Artificial intelligence -AI is a system that makes distinct decisions. AI is a branch of computer science where; computers are set to do things that generally require human intelligence. This includes learning, reasoning, problem-solving, understanding language and perceiving a situation or environment.
It involves gathering, analysing, and interpreting data to produce output or decisions that are based on programmed algorithms. It is vast and has many divisions like ML-machine learning, NLP-natural language processing, Robotics, or Deep learning. AI usage makes human tasks easy and makes our lives simpler by reducing manual labour, overall costs as well as eliminating human errors to any task which can be done by a human.

ChatGPT is an AI tool that enables users to refine any interaction for a desired level of detail, tone, format, style, length, or language used. It is an NLP tool driven by AI technology that allows human-like conversations and can answer questions or assist humans with tasks of composing and structuring emails, essays and even coding. For instance, ChatGPT could also write a 30-page self-published children’s eBook.
Chatbots like ChatGPT are empowered by large amounts of data and computing techniques. It helps them to make predictions to thread words together in a meaningful and creative manner. They not only exploit a vast amount of data and information stored but also interpret words in context. This further enables them to mimic speech patterns while dispatching a realm of knowledge from their collected and stored data.
Today, 97% of business owners in software development company in India trust ChatGPT to bring benefit to their business. While 70% of digital marketers actively employ ChatGPT.
An essential part of writing involves emotions which lack while using AI tools for writing. So, AI tools may be quicker and cheaper but are yet to prove their worth on creativity, accuracy, and plagiarism. The human touch is still a significant part of any writing.
The ideal way to manage human and AI writing would be to bring in the best of both. Employ human writing till where it can excel and bloom then utilize AI tools to refine that writing and perform the editing or checks to produce perfect content.

While ChatGPT is an AI tool that can answer questions, carry out coding, solve complex problems apart from generating content.
This is my belief that AI tools like ChatGPT try to mimic the structure of the human brain.
Only to learn from huge amounts of data through deep learning neural networks Deep learning enables AI tools to replicate writing styles & dialects backed by appropriate training data. Such massive amount of data extensively comes from data sets including research content, books, knowledge articles, web pages, and many such other sources. This formed database helps ChatGPT to function efficiently and generate any content within seconds. However, in the case of ChatGPT specifically, the data training is limited up to the year 2021. So, if there is any latest question or research after 2021, it cannot include that while producing the content. Which is its major drawback for now.
While ChatGPT is certainly impressive, it has already begun to make headlines for loopholes like making up statistics, exhibiting racist tendencies, hacking potentials, malware and phishing mails not easy to detect or possible usage for producing unethical or inappropriate content. Thus, an amalgam expertise of both should be taken to generate best content. A mixture of human writing backed by AI tools usage and checks.

A substantial advantage that human writers have over AI tools is the ability to form a personal connection with the audience. Human writers can engage audience by sharing experiences, relatable stories and analogies. Human connection with audience enables sales as customer shall buy only if they feel connected to the brand.
As human decisions are said to be based on emotions, ethics, desires and impulses.
AI tools are not yet capable of distinguishing an emotional phrase from an ordinary one.
Which would lead to AI writing being come across as more robotic or stiff. Another drawback of AI writing is lack of originality. AI tools generate content from data existing. It can only summarize it and produce a result thereby lacking any original output.
