All Hail Teamwork - A Project Of Massive Undertaking at Kings Valley
We're thrilled to share the progress details of a major restoration project at Kings Valley Association in Minnesota! 🏘️
Last August, a significant hailstorm swept through Kings Valley, leaving a trail of damage in its wake.
In the aftermath, our RowCal Construction team quickly sprang into action to begin coordinating with the association's board, insurance company, and local vendors to begin the extensive repair process.
Let’s dive into the unexpected challenges our team faced along the way and the success they achieved despite them in this massive project!
Project Scope and Challenges
The project was not just a routine repair job but a large-scale and comprehensive restoration effort.
The storm had extensively damaged roofing, gutters, and flashings, as well as shingles, ventilation systems, downspouts, skylights, and other soft metals.
A detailed assessment to identify the extent of the damage was needed in order to provide initial reports back to the management and board of directors.
In addition to those damages, the project also needed to address previous hail damage done by an earlier storm. This was a unique situation where the insurance company had denied the prior claim as “not being damaged enough” to warrant repair at the time.
Now with the added damage, there was a concern they would claim it as prior damage and our team made sure those details were strongly documented as a proactive approach to ensure the necessary repairs were covered without dispute this time.
This thorough documentation was crucial in negotiating with the insurance company, ensuring that both the new and old damages were recognized and covered without dispute!

The Restoration Plan
Due to the large scope of the project and limited space for materials and equipment, the project faced several logistical challenges.
Our team developed a well-thought-out plan to collaborate with suppliers, installers, and on-site project managers to ensure efficient workflow and minimal disruption.
With the insurance details settled, and the logistical plan in place, we set to work on the physical restoration of Kings Valley.
To manage the project effectively, it was divided into phases. This strategic approach allowed us to communicate clear timelines to residents, ensuring they were well-informed about the restoration process and what to expect.
Despite facing a tight schedule, which was compounded by the additional challenge of receiving a large amount of unexpected rainfall, our coordinated approach paid off.
We are proud to announce that this roofing phase of the project is set to finish two weeks ahead of schedule, a testament to the dedication and efficiency of everyone involved!
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
This project was a massive undertaking that required the collaboration of multiple parties.
Kudos to the Kings Valley HOA Board, our RowCal Team in Minnesota, and all our partnering vendors who overcame multiple, ongoing challenges throughout the process to repair these community homes.
