Always Involved: 4 Things You Didn’t Know We Do

Always Involved: 4 Things You Didn’t Know We Do

Our mission of growth in the Cedar Rapids Metro is multifaceted. From public policy to events and workforce initiatives, we are much more involved than you may have thought! Here are four functions we perform that fly under the radar.

Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market, Market After Dark

Cedar Rapids' famous farmers markets are organized entirely by us! The planning, staffing, and execution of each market date are all done in-house. Our daytime market runs through September 21, but Market After Dark is a one-time event on August 24. If you want to stop by, visit our website to see upcoming dates. See you there!

For more information on both of our markets, please contact Jenn Draper.

Workforce Development

The attraction, retention, and development of leaders in our community is something we believe in strongly. As such, our Workforce and Economic Development teams have a variety of programs catering to each of those goals. Whether your business needs workers or you want to give current employees opportunities to grow, we have all the tools you need to make it happen.

To learn more about our Workforce and Economic Development initiatives, reach out to Laura Seyfer, Ron Corbett, Jamie Toledo, or Mike Lukan

Public Policy

Saying we promote economic development is one thing, but personally advocating for change is another. Our public policy team has boots on the ground at political events across the country, concerning issues on the local, state, and federal levels. We aim to develop public policy strategies that address business and workforce challenges, support businesses of all sizes and types, and promote robust and welcoming communities.

For all public policy inquiries, please contact Barbra Solberg.

Ribbon Cuttings and Groundbreakings

Founding a new business (or opening a new location)  is one of the biggest days of an entrepreneur's life, and we want to make it extraordinary! Members who opt for a ribbon cutting are assisted by our team in coordinating the event and taking photos for social media. Our EA ambassadors are also present, helping the businesses make early connections in their community.

If your business in interested in a ribbon cutting or groundbreaking, please contact Pam Logue.
