Amazon Prime Video’s executives are leaving in India while Netflix is bringing an animated musical and an executive from Epic Games to head its emerging gaming vertical.
But first….
Would you be willing to pay to stay off Instagram, TikTok?
or would you like to pay to stay on them?
A study conducted at the University of Chicago asked a series of questions to over a 1,000 university students, in the United States of America, about their willingness to pay to quit TikTok, and Instagram.
When asked how much they would be willing to pay to be off TikTok and Instagram for a month, 93% and 86% (from the 1,000 students) wanted to pay something to stay on TikTok and Instagram , respectively, according to Neiman Lab. But this decision was powered by FOMO or fear of missing out.
When the set of questions was slightly changed, adding that two-thirds of students on campus would be willing to get paid to deactivate their accounts, 64% TikTok users and 48% Instagram users were prepared to be off their respective platforms as well.
The relationship he has uncovered is more like the co-dependence seen in a destructive relationship, or the way we relate to addictive products such as tobacco that we know are doing us harm, the report added.

Should digital platforms Facebook, Wikipedia and Maps be valued?
Economists have had a hard time finding the value for digital platforms.
Free digital platforms, including Facebook and Wikipedia, should be valued and added in the United States of America' GDP (Gross Domestic Product), says a Harvard Business Review report.
Contribution from the information sector into the country's GDP has hovered at an annual rate between 4% and 5% since the 1980s. Only in 2018 did the rate move to 5.5%, the report adds.
Founded in 2004, Facebook alone is worth $40-$50 (₹3,348- ₹4,185) per month for consumers in the US. But that's not what the American citizens or users from other parts of the world pay. Many of us actually do not pay anything to access services provided by these platforms and neither do we want to. Why? Find out here.
