The many luxury brands that have declined Amazon’s requests to sell on their platform are in for a surprise.

On Thursday, the e-commerce giant is unveiling its latest Amazon Luxury Store: A partnership with reseller What Goes Around Comes Around that places pre-owned and vintage bags from some of luxury’s biggest players — like Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Chanel, Prada and Gucci — on Amazon’s site.

The new shop sees some 500 items available for purchase through the Luxury Stores at Amazon . Over the next two months that number will increase to an inventory exceeding 2,000 bags — as well as select small accessories and jewelry.

Simplicity and sharp tailoring came hand in hand in the spring 2023 season, which favored a minimal aesthetic with boxy proportions.

A return to suiting was on retailers’ minds as a key trend of the season “Tailoring was a dominant theme — from formfitting and sculpted to oversize and relaxed, strict clean minimal black to embellished and colorful. Other themes included sleeveless and backless. Truly a season where there is tailoring for everyone and every occasion,” said Harrods’ Simon Longland.

Rihanna continues to raise the stakes in her Savage x Fenty brand.

Just days after the lingerieinnerwear and loungewear business revealed plans for its latest fashion show — “Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 4” on Amazon Prime — the retailer said it is adding sportswear to the assortment, with designer Adam Selman at the helm and a new cast of campaign stars.

“We wanted to push the boundaries with how we define sport and sportswear and there is no one I’d rather do that with than Adam,” the megastar and cofounder of the company said in a statement. “We think of sport as how you move through your life. I want people to feel sexy, carefree and powerful when they put these pieces on and Adam is the perfect designer to carry out that vision.”

There were no hurdles for Hermès International as it continued its winning sales streak in the third quarter. Revenues were up 3.1 billion euros, boosted by Asia and the U.S., with currency fluctuations working in its favor.

Sales were up 24.3 percent in the third quarter. That handily beat analyst predictions, with a consensus estimate of 15.3 percent growth at constant exchange, and forecast sales in the 2.9 billion euro ballpark.

“The strong performance in the third quarter reflects the desirability of our collections all around the world and the relevance of our values. We move forward with confidence and caution while continuing to bolster our integrated model, rooted in France and committed to job creation,” said chief executive officer Axel Dumas.
