American Grammar Checkup: It's QUIZ Time!

American Grammar Checkup: It's QUIZ Time!

Last month I shared three posts on common grammar errors that can trap even the best writers when using the American style if they're not thinking clearly. I know a lot of you read the articles, but for those who missed them (or for a refresher):

#1 Questions / Statements

#2 Apostrophes in Plurals

#3 Apostrophes in Contractions

Or, of course, you can skip to the quiz below and see how you do.

One sentence below is written correctly; the others need a little help. What needs to be changed? And read carefully . . .

  1. Why we should write our goals down?
  2. How do we form questions in English?
  3. How many cats do the Brown's have now?
  4. I cant remember if she was born in 1966 or 67?
  5. Do you remember anything about the 1950's?
  6. Do you now were the womans room is?
  7. Amy sure ate alot of taco's, didn't she?
  8. How many CD's, TV's, and radios are in that store.
  9. Did she graduate in the class of 64 / '64 / 64'?
  10. Is Javier realy in his 30's / 30s? He look's so much younger!

Remember, you can always look at the original post to be sure of your answers.

How did you do with this short quiz? Do you have any questions?

Thanks for taking the time to read this post. If it has helped you in any way, I hope you will . . .

Like or Share it, so your connections can see it and perhaps learn too. Let us know what you thought, so you can be seen by my connections. You never know who would be interested in YOU! (Ask Deb Helfrich how well that works for her.)

My previous posts can be seen here, and they're easy to find because they're categorized. Just type in a word in the search box on the topic you're looking for and see everything I wrote on it.

Do the associates in your company look and sound as smart as they are? They would if they could take one of my Brush Up on Your Skills workshops right where they work. If your company hires outside experts to teach any topic to its associates, I would appreciate your sharing my posts and website with your Human Resources or Training Manager.

Are you a member of an association or other group that is looking for a speaker for one of its meetings? There are a lot of communication-based topics that would be perfect for a lighthearted and interesting presentation.

Thanks to Mr. Myron Kilgore (my English teacher in 1967-68, which was my junior year of HS), I scored 100% on this pop quiz.
