America’s military veterans

Today we celebrate Veterans Day and honor the brave men and women that have served our country. Throughout our history, military service members have put on their uniforms to protect the values and liberties that this nation was built on. There is no better example of the American spirit than that of the United States Armed Forces.

Once the uniform comes off it does not mean their service to our great nation has ended. Veterans take the lessons they have learned and the experiences they’ve gained and continue their service to our nation by strengthening our communities. They become our nation’s leaders, educators, law enforcement and entrepreneurs to name a few.

Our veterans have guarded and protected so that others can sleep safely in their own homes. Many flew or sailed to parts of the world where only a few others would have the courage to go. In times of peace and times of war their families made sacrifices that most of us could never imagine making. They answered the call so that others would not have to and still do today.

“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave"- Elmer Davis
