In this coming year I will start the AMP Newsletter off with a short miniseries on “management system thinking”.  This will noodle through the must have “light bulb moments” needed to understand that “managing assets” and “asset management” are related, but fundamentally different perspectives.  As detailed in the AMP Newsletter, maturity in asset management requires an organization to be able to apply both perspectives in concert to maximize value generation.

Soon after this short miniseries I will start a longer miniseries on principles for Asset Management System (AMS) implementation.  This miniseries will cover principles helpful to implementation and activation of the Asset Management (AM) Framework detailed in the miniseries that just finished.  These are not asset management principles.  Instead, they will cover view points and logic critical to establishing an AMS for your organization.

These two miniseries will cover about five months of weekly releases, which is just in time for reviews of new ISO 55000 series standards that are planned to be released later this year.  At this point the AMP Newsletter will turn its attention to introducing these products to include an in-depth analysis of the changes and advancements contained in them.
