In Anambra, a teacher puts an eight-year-old student into a coma.

Faith Nwonye, a 30-year-old teacher at Landmark School Mgbakwu in the Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been placed under arrest on suspicion of putting a student, age eight, in a coma by beating him.

On Monday, Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the commissioner of education, informed reporters in her office that the state government had closed the school permanently.

Chuma-Udeh also revealed that she had called Nwonye and the owner of the school to describe the events leading up to the main two students' brutalization.

The commissioner clarified that in addition to being closed because of the unpleasant incident, the school was also closed because it was unlawful.

"We received this unfortunate incident that a child was beaten to a coma over the weekend from an illegal school in Mgbakwu," the woman stated. We invited the owner of the illicit school and the teacher who allegedly thrashed the youngster on behalf of the State Government."While we wait for Mr. Governor's orders, we have turned the case over to the police for additional investigations. Since the school wasn't meant to be there in the first place, it has been closed permanently. It is at the risk of the parent enrolling their child in an unlicensed school."Anyone operating an unlicensed school in Anambra is a criminal, according to private school owners. In the state, operating an unlicensed school is against the law.She bemoaned the development, though, and said that the medical professional had informed her that the victim's prospects of life at the time of admittance to the hospital were only 20%.

"Beating a child is illegal, regardless of whether the school is allowed or not. The child has a 20% chance of surviving, the doctor says," she said. She said that those who did this were doing so at their own risk and that the teacher would be held accountable.

"Once the police leave, the teacher will face other institutions that violate children's rights," she continued. Because of what she did, she will face the full force of the law.The state of Anambra detests violence against women, children, and anybody else. Mr. Governor is opposed to it, and it is not a part of this government.
