Animal feed consulting startup eFeed gets a grant of Rs. 25 lakh from ICAR.

eFeed Life Science , an innovative agri startup for the betterment of livestocks in India, gets a grant of Rs. 25 lakhs form the ICAR- Indian Council of Agricultural Research . The startup is working to provide farmers with the best nutritive products for their cattles.


The startup is now moving ahead to expand its network to take the Indian livestock & dairy industry to the higher levels. There is already a presence of big investors in the startup like Omnivore and now its collaboration with the ICAR helps it to connect with more farmers for good livestock health and increased income.


About the ceremony :

The ceremony was named as ‘Pusa Krishi AgriInno Connect’, which was organized on Dec 15, 2023 at Dr. B.P Pal Auditorium ICAR - IARI Pusa campus, New Delhi.

The chief guest of the program was Shri. Ashish Kumar Srivastava, Joint Secretary-RKVY, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Govt of India. Dr. A K Singh, Director, ICAR-IARI, Dr. Anupama Singh, Joint Director (Education) & Dean, ICAR-IARI, and Dr. Akriti Sharma, CEO Pusa Krishi also graced the program.


In the ceremony a big platform was provided to the agri startups to showcase their innovations and get highlighted. After the successful presentations these startups received the grant for their works. eFeed was one of the startups which got a total of

Rs.25 lakhs in the program.


About eFeed :

This is an agri startup primarily working for the development of the livestock industry by improving the cattle health and providing farmers with the best solution for the increased productivity of their livestocks.

In 2020, Kumar Ranjan an alumni of Manipal Institute of Technology, founded an innovation for the health of cattles and environmental safety and named it as eFeed.

The head office of the company is in Pune, Maharashtra. His vision is to reduce methane emissions by promoting a balanced ration or Total Mixed Ration which provides the cattles all nutrients required for good health, milk production and reproduction.


By improving cattle health we can produce more milk which is useful in increasing the contributions of the cattle industry in the country's success. Company runs a mobile application named eFeed by which farmers can use their services.


Services offered by eFeed :

The farmers can order products of the company by its mobile application. Its product list includes Pashu Amrut, Cow Premix, C-Xpert and Bro- Xpert. Company’s services include several training programs by which it educates Indian farmers about the cattle nutrition and its effect on milk production. It tells about the preparation of cattle feed from homemade organic and natural resources.


Words of the founder :

Founder Kumar Ranjan said about the grant that, “It is the fruits of hard work we are doing in eFeed, and it signifies the successful impact of the startup for the cattle industry. We are excited for the new opportunities this grant brought with it and to reach more farmers with our innovation and demonstrate to them the increase in milk production.”


Where will the grant be used ?

Company will use this grant in expanding their operation and will showcase the increased milk production to the farmers. This will inspire more farmers to connect with them and trust them which ensures increased contribution from the cattle

industry to the country’s economy.


Till now the company has made a network of more than 1.2 lakh farmers working for the good health of cattles. With this it has also achieved success in raising a total of $1.5 million funding from big investors like Omnivore, Better Capital, Faad, and

Huddle.
