Not Another Newsletter - What You Can Expect!

Let me start by saying that this is not going to be just another newsletter. Over the past several years, I read hundreds of newsletters and thousands of editions. In this process, I grew as a person and as a professional so much that it is time for me to pay it forward.

I can't help but share this abundance of multidisciplinary knowledge that I have poured myself over in these years, the interesting experiments I took up and the process I figured out to continue to spice up my life as a curious learner and a passionate practitioner.

It has put me on a path where I practice this craft of collecting the dots and connecting the dots day in and day out.

In fact, I went through an intense experience of reflecting and writing about all of my observations and learnings last year. However, I am convinced that it is time to do it at scale and the LinkedIn newsletter feature is a welcoming opportunity for me at this point in time.

So, here is a brief on what you can expect and I sincerely hope this will resonate with you and you will consider subscribing to my newsletter.

Newsletter Frequency:

Though I deliberated if it must be a monthly or a biweekly frequency, I learnt that a weekly rhythm works the best for me. Even as a subscriber of many newsletters I like them hitting my inbox on a weekly basis.

Format and Content:

Most newsletters have a structured format. Even I plan to have one. However, I realized that when we put too much structure around anything, we miss out on the role of chance.

So I plan to have what I call structured serendipity, which means there will always be some structure but it will also allow me to improvise sometimes.

  • A brief introduction to the weekly edition
  • Topics I spent my time on during the week
  • Mention of the work/people I found interesting on the internet
  • Personal updates and giveaways

In the last annual letter to shareholders as the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos wrote a full section to elaborate on the idea of being yourself, retaining our distinctiveness and staying away from becoming normal. He also warned that it won't be easy and needs continuous energy to differentiate ourselves. I am applying these wise words in the context of my newsletter.

While LinkedIn wants every newsletter to be extremely focused on a specific topic, I am giving myself the freedom to stay away from this suggestion, so my newsletter can differentiate itself from many others out there.

So I will be covering content on a wide range of topics like curiosity, growth, mastery, productivity, success, failure, happiness, purpose, creativity, careers, business, leadership, management, coaching etc.

Target audience:

I intend to write this newsletter to all lifelong learners and leaders who are keen to explore life as a series of opportunities and exploit some of those opportunities that resonate with them.

I believe this is what all of us do knowingly or unknowingly, but I am keen to help the readers by creating a deliberate scaffolding in their own paths.

Through this newsletter, I hope that as a reader you will be able to trace your unique journeys of mastery.

Final Thoughts:

When we share something with others we hope that it will be of use to them. In this age of information overload, we must instead aim to genuinely help them grow new skills and take meaningful action towards their growth. With my newsletter, I hope to stay committed to this thought.

"Sharing knowledge is not about giving people something, or getting something from them. That is only valid for information sharing. Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action; it is about creating learning processes." ― Peter Senge

I am confident that you will find my newsletter both refreshing & valuable at the same time.

I wish to see you this Friday and every Friday going forward!

Don't forget to subscribe.
