🎉 Another Tip For Your Day's Success Pt 171🎊

"If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much." — Jim Rohn
"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work." — Steve Jobs

Hey Big Chiefs and DreamChasers, I had a wonderful day. I hope y'all did as well!

Amidst the heavy rainfall. I was inspired to share insights on why being intentional brought me this far.

Many individuals might not fully grasp the importance of being in a rapidly evolving market for achieving career success. This is why I'm delighted to be a sales professional and consultant who has operated in numerous developed and emerging economies, gaining insights into various industries, both in the field and in remote sales.

I'd like to take you back to the early days of my career when my curiosity led me to explore the diverse facets of sales across various niches and contemplate the potential to attain financial independence.

Back then, I wasn't married, and I was more impulsive. The excitement of uncovering inefficiencies in different sectors was truly captivating.

However, it was only after I got married and welcomed my son that maturity and a more calculated perspective set in, as I now had to make decisions that impacted not only my life but also the lives of someone's daughter and our child positively or negatively.

This newfound responsibility made me resolute in my choices, some of which turned out positively, some through sheer luck, and others took a perilous turn, nearly costing me my life on two occasions via fatal accidents.

Nevertheless, these experiences collectively taught me that improvement was always possible.

However, associating with individuals who held superstitious beliefs didn't help matters. It began to influence me into believing that someone other than myself was responsible for my poor choices and financial predicaments.

Until I consciously confronted this bias, realizing that this was a trend, and that I was not alone in this depressive self-denial battle in my journey.

In Nigeria, we often call this trend the concept of "village people," which is essentially a state of superstitious illusion where people attribute life's circumstances to unseen evil forces or demons.

Allow me to pause for a moment and ask, don't you already know that living and succeeding in life are not standard or ordinary pursuits? They require adherence to certain guiding principles, and we must overcome the accompanying challenges as tests akin to the final bosses in a video game to progress to the next level.

When we commit ourselves to success, we must take ownership of our actions and lives by diligently observing these principles. This self-awareness enables us to identify and rectify recurring mistakes until they become ingrained habits.

Whether we are pursuing personal or professional success, we should always approach our journey with caution and intentionality to achieve the best possible results.

This underscores the importance of conducting thorough market research to ascertain whether a particular industry is experiencing growth. Imagine venturing into the newspaper industry when it is in decline, with technology rapidly taking over.

Unless you find yourself in an emerging market, your chances of success are significantly reduced, especially when competing against well-established industry giants in that space.

In essence, we are staking our lives, careers, and life directions on the choices we make. Unfortunately, many individuals opt for jobs solely because they are readily available, rather than pursuing their true passions and desires.

Personally, I made the deliberate choice to gain firsthand experience in a wide array of industries during my 20s, believing that these experiences would shape my growth and guide my focus in my 30s.

This is my strategy, and I approach it with unwavering intentionality. For me, the value of experience equals or even surpasses that of job growth, with an emphasis on making a meaningful impact, nurturing significant relationships, and achieving financial success.

In the interest of clarity and context, let's delve into the story of Madam C.J. Walker, whose intentional entrepreneurship in hair care products made her one of the first female self-made millionaires.

Born on December 23, 1867, as Sarah Breedlove, Madam C.J. Walker is renowned as a trailblazing entrepreneur who overcame adversity and racial barriers to become one of the first female self-made millionaires in the United States. Her life story is a testament to the power of intentionality, determination, and innovation.

Early Life and Struggles

Sarah Breedlove was born to formerly enslaved parents on a cotton plantation in Delta, Louisiana. She grew up in poverty and faced considerable challenges during her formative years.

Sarah was orphaned at the age of seven and was married at just 14, giving birth to her daughter, Lelia, at 17. Her early life was marked by economic hardship and personal trials.

The Birth of a Vision

Sarah's journey to entrepreneurship began in the 1890s when she started to suffer from a scalp ailment that caused hair loss. In her quest to find a solution, she experimented with various hair products and remedies available at the time.

Her entrepreneurial spark ignited when she developed her own formula, a hair care product that nourished the scalp and promoted hair growth. This formula later became known as the "Madam Walker's Wonderful Hair Grower."

Pioneering Entrepreneurship

With her hair care product in hand and an unwavering commitment to success, Sarah Breedlove relocated to Denver, Colorado, and adopted the name "Madam C.J. Walker."

She saw a burgeoning market opportunity in catering to the hair care needs of African-American women, who often faced limited options and struggled with hair issues due to societal standards and a lack of suitable products.

Madam Walker's approach was intentionally strategic. She began selling her product door-to-door, personally demonstrating its effectiveness.

Her salesmanship and genuine concern for her customers set her apart. She believed that empowering women to look and feel their best was a noble mission, and she was intentional in her pursuit of this goal.

Entrepreneurial Success

Madam Walker's hair care products gained immense popularity among African-American women, who saw visible improvements in their hair and scalp health. Recognizing the potential for growth, she expanded her business, establishing the Madam C.J. Walker Manufacturing Company in 1906.

Her company not only offered hair care products but also provided opportunities for African-American women to become sales agents, earning commissions and financial independence.

Madam Walker was not only intentional in her business approach but also in her advocacy for the economic empowerment of African Americans. She believed that financial success could uplift her community, and she actively supported charitable causes and educational scholarships for African-American students.

A Legacy of Empowerment

Madam C.J. Walker's legacy extends beyond her entrepreneurial success. She became a prominent figure in the African-American community and a symbol of black pride and achievement during a time of racial segregation and discrimination. Her intentional efforts in promoting self-worth and financial independence for African-American women left an indelible mark on history.

Sadly, Madam C.J. Walker passed away in 1919, but her legacy endures. Her daughter, A'Lelia Walker, carried on her mother's legacy by supporting the arts and culture during the Harlem Renaissance.

The Madam C.J. Walker Manufacturing Company continued to thrive, and her vision for empowerment continued through subsequent generations.

In recognition of her groundbreaking achievements, Madam C.J. Walker's life and entrepreneurial journey serve as an inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly women and people of color.

Her intentional entrepreneurship and commitment to improving the lives of others exemplify the extraordinary impact one individual can make through vision, determination, and dedication to success.

Madam C.J. Walker's story reminds us that, with intentionality and resilience, barriers can be overcome, and dreams can be realized even in the fast-paced nature of the world we live in today where it's easy to get caught up in the chaos and lose sight of our personal and career goals.

However, as already mentioned success rarely happens by chance. To truly flourish in both aspects of life, we must become more intentional. 🌟
