The Anthropocentric Fallacy: Our Planet continues to pay the price while we don't learn

Humanity's unchecked entitlement to Earth's resources has triggered catastrophic environmental damage. Rampant deforestation and overfishing have wiped out species and disrupted ecosystems, while pollution has tainted our air, water, and soil, endangering all life. Climate change, fueled by relentless fossil fuel use, has unleashed extreme weather and rising seas, eroding biodiversity. These disasters are the direct result of our reckless exploitation.

Yet, it seems these lessons have not been harsh enough. We continue to see ourselves as the owners of the Earth, believing in a hierarchical relationship where our needs are prioritized over those of animals, whose worth is often reduced to their utility for human purposes. The article reports Namibia's intent to butcher 723 wild animals to meet human's hunger in the midst of a drought, which will pose a bio diversity threat. The leading nations are ever ready to fund millions of dollars in wars - how about funding food for Namibia and protecting our ecosystem.

Very well written. There is enough provided by nature for Human needs but human greed by those powerful ones have deprived basic needs of few lesser mortals. Sad part of story is, very little ray of hope here, as sufferings of Namabia may not be capturing required attention globally.

There is enough food , water and resources in the world. The problem is few people have the luxury to waste while some others starve. Same things for wealth, few folks have so much that they can waste in lavish parties while some strive for basic needs. Until we learn to live with nature not against it, we are destroying the human future and with it endangering other species. It is similar to the top management makes wrong decisions and the entire company suffers. All these issues and due to lack of human empathy towards other humans and species in the planet. With time as people become more self centered, the larger destruction will be knocking at the door. Similar things have happened in the past and we see remains of lost civilisations. This time it may be just bigger if we don’t mend our ways.

Very unfortunate. There will be no end to this madness if left unchecked. There is so much food wastage and hard to believe that the world cannot support Namibia in the time of their dire need. Another man made disaster in the making.

Very well written. Decisions made are 'Stop Gap Arrangement'. Mother Earth has given us so much In abundance but we are unable to preserve and fighting for nothing worthwhile🙏
