Antimicrobial efficacy of TauroLock™
Research has shown that antimicrobial lock solutions increase the safety and quality of life for patients with CVCs (central-venous catheters) in several ways.
- TauroLock™ has proven effective against a wide range of bacteria and fungi (including MRSA and VRE).
- TauroLock™ is not an antibiotic – no bacterial resistance has been observed.
- TauroLock™ prevents the colonisation of catheters at the planktonic level as well as the development of biofilms within catheters.
TauroLock™ kills bacteria and fungi within two hours – a time frame available between two treatment sessions.
The antimicrobial efficacy of TauroLock™ solutions significantly reduces the infection rate in access systems for oncology, dialysis, and parenteral nutrition.

1yAs an professional user ( icc Dialysis Nurse) to all others: be carefull with broken the glass-ampull. Also use an special filter needle ( 18 G) , if je take out the solution. Because of the minuscule glassplinters. The Company advises each one to use an special plastic "breaker". And what about the special filter needle?? I's all about safety for the patiënt, but also for the user!!
