Armit Wines - InVivo Group

Armit Wines - InVivo Group

I am currently headhunting for the MD position of Armit Wines, here is an exciting press release from both Armit Wines and the InVivo Group:

UK wine merchant Armit Wines has reported strong sales for the last six months including a 15% rise in the last quarter and predicts the company will reach £30m turnover in the next five years.

Sales over the last 6 months have increased by +6%. Sales over the last 3 months have increased by +15%

The news follows the takeover by leading French agricultural co-operative group InVivo two years ago (July 2017). Since the takeover, Armit Wines has made several changes to its business strategy, reviewed each route to market and rationalised its wine portfolio.

InVivo MD for Europe & Business Development, Philippe Leveau, says the link with InVivo has been very positive for the business. “Armit Wines is a key part of the InVivo Wine business model as a leading fine wine merchant in the UK. Fine wine is a strategic part of InVivo group’s strategy. Since the take over we have implemented radical changes in the structure of Armit Wines that will allow the group to deliver the excellence and quality of execution that fine wine demands. We can confidently say that we have now the strategy, vision and resources to deliver this at Armit Wines.”  Leveau added that the positive figures were helped by a strong Bordeaux en-primeur campaign which delivered an uplift of 30% compared to last year. “Armit Wines has a strong core of Italian and other European producers and will continue to be a global wine merchant. We are proud to represent some of the world’s most iconic wineries and we will continue to scout for the next generation of wine stars, in the new and the old world. In particular, France is an exciting region where we see untapped potential for growth. Armit Wines has an impressive brand building track record and InVivo Wine is offering the tools and stability to continue this legacy,” says Leveau who explains InVivo now owns 100% of Armit Wines following the acquisition of the shares of a minority shareholder in June 2019.

Armit Wines also has big IT investment plans which include a refreshed look and feel of the website and a new online ordering system for trade customers later this year and the implementation of InVivo’s ERP system (SAP) in 2020.

The first in an exciting new style of tasting events for trade and consumer customers will take place in October.

InVivo Wine Employing 5,500 people with a revenue of €5.5 billion, Invivo Wine is a leading French agricultural cooperative group, organised around three fields of expertise: Bioline by InVivo (agriculture), InVivo Retail (consumer retail) and InVivo Wine (wine).

InVivo’s other wine assets include: the Bordeaux négociant houses Cordier and Mestrezat, Oud Reuchlin Boelen in the Netherlands, Rutishauser in Switzerland and Hasselt Millesime in Belgium.

Armit Wines Based in Notting Hill, Armit Wines has a reputation as one of the UK’s leading contemporary wine merchants, recognised for the quality of its portfolio with several exclusive agencies in the UK including Tenuta San Guido (Sassicaia), Ornellaia and Bruno Giacosa from Italy as well as established icons of the fine wine world such as Château Lafleur, Domaine Huet and La Rioja Alta S.A. The agency business operates alongside a fine wine private account management team, a trading arm and significant reach in the off and on trade, supplying almost all the Michelin starred restaurants in the UK, along with a host of other fine dining establishments.
