Around the Bases 11/23
Welcome back! I got to catch up with a lot of my colleagues (and members of the team here at ATB) last week, and got a ton of great feedback about the newsletter (thanks to all of you for that). To hear that producing this makes a difference means a lot to so many really gives me a boost. We also had a nice uptick in subscribers, so thanks to those who are spreading the word about what is going on here. So those who are followers here that I go to see, it was great catching up. To those I missed (long list), I hope we can connect down the road.
Inspiration can come from a lot of places, and I came across one last weekend, as I mentioned above. There was a great reunion of a work family I was a part of (and still am despite no longer working there) that provided story after story while we were catching up about everyone's second (or third, or fourth) acts. Being on that journey myself, the lesson here is that new beginnings ARE possible. Being surrounded by so many talented people that I was lucky enough to be around for a time was great, and that trip down memory lane reminded me of the value I had there and knowing that will continue to help me on my current path. You can't live in the past, but you can take the positive experiences you had from that time as you launch yourself into something new.
This week's Something to Watch is a really interesting delivery from Vanessa Van Edwards (a great follow) about looking at....you. Lots of great info packed into the 18 minutes here and you should have a few cool takeaways from this.
I came across this week's Something to Read in a post I saw today (big shout out to who posted it- you know who you are!). The book was something I read in college back in the day and it helped me unlock a lot more than just how to write. Amazing stuff here that still resonates years later.
I came across this week's Something to Listen To when I needed a lift, and got one. This short episode from The Positive Mindset Podcast might shed some light on how you can get yourself going in the right direction.
Here are the Top 10 jobs i saw this week, with the first 5 coming from our team at CBS Sports. I can get you directly involved in the process for those roles, and may have a way or 2 into the others as well. Don't fall into the "its the end of the year" trap., there are plenty of places looking, and this is just a taste.

I also got to talk to a lot of new people this week (big shout out to the students at Quinnipiac University I talked with this week thanks to their professor John Brickley ), and I get just as much of a lift from that as I do taking a trip down memory lane with others. Helping those in the sports media field regardless of their experience level has always been a huge part of my professional life, so if you find yourself in need of an ally to help you with whatever may be next, we should talk. There are so many things on the "to-do" list when you are lining up your future. Resumes, demo reels and general strategy are just a few of the things I can provide assistance with. Please feel free to visit my website below, set up a free consultation call, and see how we can help each other. Just DM me here or email me at tom@stormers15media.com for more. Take the step, you may surprise yourself with what happens afterwards.
Before I head out, kudos to those on the team here starting something new (you k ow who you are!). Again, I can't thank you all enough for your support here each and every week, it means more than you can know. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
