The Arrogance toward another large civilization, great power, and nuclear power!
I was wrapping up my MBA when Russian president declared that he has no option left. The special military operation must happens, and people should not over react.
Many specialists and so called experts in the continental US declared Russia has a rusty army They cant tie their shoe laces. nothing works. Essentially all the same sentiment Nazi held towards Russia back in the days before they invaded Russia. Today the USA invaded Russia. Let us not be fools who lies to ourselves that we are not at war, when we tried to remove another civilization from their seat at the table of civlizations. You don't have to call it war, but you do not get to decide how I view it as war.
Many old men has nothing better to do, but make shit post on the internet. But they are really great shits. Then they draw out some more great shits from others who are largely invisible people.
Dion wrote an incredibly long article on the issue of arrogance towards russia. As of 12/21/2021, the Federation has completed the modernization of 89% of nuclear strategic forces, and 76% of all conventional forces (Sergey Shoygu, Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation)
and this person who i have never heard of, contributed an incredible insight Which I would say foundational understanding and requirement for US military, politicians. However, we who have friends around the world understand that Americans lack basic education on this world.

This is what the Germans thought before invading USSR in WWII too. Survivors of the command after the war stated “if we knew what the Soviets have, we would have never attacked”. It turned out the Soviets not only had better weapons, but also in an unexpected large quantity. Not only that, but they had the industrial capability to churn out more and more… USSR wor the war by outproducing Germany. Plus the people, but we don’t discuss that.
Ever since the WWII they are obsessed to not let that happen “ever again”. This is why, they are arming to the teeth with primarily defensive and “punishment” weapons. They are ready to live in huts, but be prepared for the new wanabee.
The Soviets had invested heavily in fundamental science. The rest of the world took heavy boost in the 90s because when the Soviet Union dissolved, most of that science was shared, including via emigration of scientists.
During the Soviet Union, any industry was designed to befully used in war time. In fact, their civilian production was “leftovers” of military production. Whatever they produced, say a refridgerator or a vacuum cleaner, was built like a tank.. and those still work as they did back then today!!! That meant they didn’t have many “fancy” consumer products, just the basic stuff.. but plenty of it. And it was cheap, because it was not made for profit.
From the list of weapons in this answer, one needs special attention: SU-57. Oficially, it is “too expensive for production”. But there are rumours (and those do not come from Russia), that it’s airframe is designed to be 3D printed. Let that sink…
If this is the case, then Russia is preparing a new variation of the T-34 — a mass produced high-tech military plane. This is why, they do not need to produce 1000 of them today. What for? So that they cost lots in maintenance??? All they need is to make sure the design works and that they have the industrial capacity to churn them out fast. There are still closed cities in Russia, just as there were in the USSR. We have no idea what they make there…
Another thing is that Russia has defensive military doctrine. They absolutely do not need “stealth jet”, beause they do not intent to invade anyone. They don’t need much planes anyway, because their air defense is unlike that of NATO, primarily land based. They have plenty of strategic depth to afford that. The moment you see the Russian jet on your F-22 radar, you know it’s already too late… you are in trouble, and the jet is your least concern. On the other hand, Russia is wast — so they build specific long-range planes to be able to patrol it over. It’s a long topic.
