Executive standard: ASME SA-517/SA-517M standard (completely equivalent to ASTM standard A517/A517M-06).

Delivery status: delivery in the quenched and tempered state, that is, the steel plate has undergone quenching and tempering treatment.

Chemical Composition of SA517 Grade B boiler and pressure vessel steel

The chemical composition of SA517GrB steel plate is strictly controlled to ensure its high strength and good weldability. The main chemical components include:

The carbon (C) content is less than 0.15%

Silicon (Si) content less than 0.50%

The content of manganese (Mn) is between 0.70% and 1.10%

Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S) content less than 0.025% and 0.010% respectively

The content of molybdenum (Mo) is controlled between 0.45% and 0.60%

SA517GrB steel plate has excellent mechanical properties, including:

Tensile strength: ≥880 MPa

Yield strength: ≥625 MPa

Elongation: ≥11.5%

Impact toughness: impact energy greater than or equal to 60J
