Attention Disruptors: What To Expect from #TNWTechWeek 2016

This week some of the biggest and best from the technology world are descending upon Amsterdam for the annual #TNWTechWeek

People from all corners of the globe have come to the City of Bikes for what promises to a week to remember packed with 100+ events, disruptive companies, amazing products and a plethora of amazing speakers/attendees.

Whether you’re in Amsterdam, or admiring from a few thousand miles away, here's a snapshot of what you can expect from #TNWTechWeek over the next five days:

Monday, 23rd May: The NextWomen Innovation Summit 


#TNWTechWeek kicks off with the NextWomen Innovation Summit. This event was founded by Simone Brummelhuis, starting 7 years ago with a few female entrepreneurs interested in tech and digital chatting in her living room.  Today, the NextWomen Summit is a global community of female investors, founders and entrepreneurs who are passionate about building great businesses.

From Her Majesty Queen Máxima and Gillian Tans (CEO Booking.com) to Ida Tin (Founder of Clue) and Tina Wells (CEO Buzz Marketing Group), this year's conference will bring together over 750 of the most influential and entrepreneurial women in science, politics, media, business and non-profits.

With diversity in tech having become such a huge issue this year, this promises to be a fascinating event.

Tuesday, 24th May: Startup Fest Europe Opening Event


To celebrate the Netherlands holding the presidency of the European Union, StartupFest Europe was created to show the world the brightest and best of the European Startup World.

Initiated by Startup Delta, the aim here is to create a true “West Coast of Europe” by bringing international VCs and startups to the Netherlands. The week-long festival has sessions on everything you could possibly want from The Future of High Tech & E-commerce to a huge Campus Party (hacking event) and an Executive Edge CEO session.

The festival's lineup of speakers is one of the best you'll ever see across the globe this year with Tim Cook (Apple), Nathan Blecharczyk (Airbnb), Eric Schmidt (Alphabet), Travis Kalanick (Uber), Andrus Ansip (Vice-president of the European Commission) and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte all delivering talks.

Wednesday, 25th May: Young Creators Conference


No Tech Week would be complete without a focus on the upcoming generation of young talent. The Young Creators Conference is a community of ambitious teenagers and students who are founding and creating the most disruptive companies of tomorrow.

Over 300 young creators will be gathering together Wednesday for what will undoubtedly be a life-changing event, with talks from Thiel Fellows, leaders of the biggest tech companies and several successful Dutch Founders. 

Young Creators is focused on given students and teenagers the resources that they need to take their first step towards building their dream company, all for just €15 - a truly phenomenal event.

Thursday 24th May - Friday 25th May: The Next Web Conference

Hailed by many as the biggest and best tech conference of the year, The Next Web (TNW) brings together over 100+ outstanding speakers and 20,000 attendees for what promises to be a world-changing 48 hours. 

TNW has something for everyone with 7 different stages focusing on Digital Innovation, Entrepreneurs, Growth Acceleration, Disruptive Machines, the Collaborative Economy and a whole host of workshops with pioneers in each field. Check out the whole schedule here!

Much like StartupFestEU, TNW boasts some of the biggest names in tech as speakers this year. Attendees will get to hear from the likes of Gary Vaynerchuk (Co-Founder & CEO Vaynermedia),  Steve Huffman (Co-Founder & CEO Reddit), Ryan Leslie (Music Artist & Founder SuperPhone), Casey Neistat (Youtube Star) and KayvonBekypour (Co-Founder & CEO Periscope), to name but a few.
