Automation: The Thief of Time
I am a huge fan of automation. Whenever we can systematize aspects of our life to open time for us to do more valuable and important tasks, I am all over that. However, there is a flip side to the automation coin. It can cause us to waste time, and our automation might cause us to waste others’ time.
I recently bought a new car. Since the purchase, the dealership has been sending periodic emails. I know it is an automated process, but their content has been informative and helpful. One email came through letting me know the vehicle was due for its initial maintenance service and what should get completed. I was guided to their website where I was able to schedule the appointment and confirm what needed to be done. It was a relatively simple process. Easy for them, easy for me. Hooray for automation.
Fast forward to the service date...

2moAutomation is a game-changer, but you're right—when it's not done right, it can backfire! Your article sounds super insightful, especially the part about calculating ROT. How do you recommend balancing the initial setup time with long-term benefits? Looking forward to reading it! David Buck
