Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain
As Supply Chain's become more complex, so does the need to simplify the management of them."
I recently attended the Automotive Logistics UK event at Silverstone, the event it's self was good, topics / agenda good, audience and speakers, great, staff's ability in dealing with mishaps, excellent. All in all a good one day-ish event.
There was however for me a slight oversight when it came to discussing certain topics. There was a lot of talk about some of the major challenges Brexit could, maybe, possibility bring, or not.......confused......welcome to Brexit planning. But if you take Brexit away for a moment [relieved sigh], the solutions / requirements that will support a hard Brexit situation are still sought after solutions.
Let me explain. The below list is what I noted down from conversations, talks / presentation, questions, panel discussions etc.....as to what is needed to support a hard Brexit, you can call them, requirements, solutions, must have's, call them what you like, but these are what most agreed are needed.
- Improved and detailed visibility across trading partners
- Real time visibility and control of supply chain and logistics processes
- Friction-less solutions to aid in better, faster collaboration and data linkage
- IT platforms that can support the advancements in AI technology at both customer and company level
- Easier integration of collaborative technology
These, solutions are still highly valuable even if there were no Brexit, to worry about. More importantly the majority of challenges discussed, can be resolved with one type of technology, "Control Towers". Which I was amazed was not really discussed.
In light of this, a recent video I made on the subject of "Supply Chain Control Towers", I feel would be very relevant and of interest to those involved in Supply Chain and Logistics, and Brexit across the Automotive Industry.
If you're interested in gaining insight as to what a Supply Chain Control Tower is and who it's for, please view this short video.
Following on from this, I have also added an older Video I made, specifically for the Automotive Industry. In this Video, I talk about the challenges we have been presented with by Auto OEM's and Tiered suppliers and how One Network's advanced technology and solutions have resolved them.
The Automotive Industry is constantly advancing, and Supply Chain and Logistics Management is under immense pressure to keep up with it. This is where advanced Supply Chain and Logistics technology provider such as One Network come in.
Ultimately as Supply Chain's become more complex, so does the need to simplify the management of them.
