The consecration ceremony of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is not just about religion, but business and economy too.

Here are some interesting facts:

  1. The influx of tourists, both domestic and NRI, seeking the darshan of Ramlala will bring in foreign funds. January might witness a GST collection surpassing Rs 2 lakh crore, setting a new record. The tourism, hotel, and travel sectors are expected to experience a significant boom, potentially propelling the GDP to 8.4 in the upcoming quarter.
  2. The storytelling aspect of the site would draw people from all parts of the world and also has the potential to become a major tourist attraction for north India. The ongoing infrastructure development in Ayodhya is not only attracting direct investments but is also expected to generate 1 lakh direct and 8 lakh indirect jobs.
  3. Post the Ram Temple inauguration, temple tourism may constitute 2.5 percent of the GDP. This influx of funds could be directed towards creating new infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, colleges, roads, and railways. It can also be used to create and manage schemes directed towards the farmers, armed forces, the elderly, and the economically deprived sections.
  4. The areas surrounding Ayodhya will witness a surge in economic activities after the inauguration of the Ram temple and the city may undergo expansion similar to the National Capital Region.
  5. The host of developmental and infrastructural projects in Ayodhya will boost tourism in and around the city and also turn the city into a regional growth hub that will spur business and economic activity in the wider region due to enhanced connectivity.
  6. Direct-to-consumer (D2C) websites specializing in devotional merchandise have seen an extraordinary surge of more than 300 percent in orders.
  7. Redevelopment of Ayodhya as per Master Plan 2031 will be completed over 10 years with an investment of over Rs 85,000 crore.
  8. The NHAI is executing projects worth Rs 10,000 crore, and the public works department of the UP government has also taken up 34 projects worth close to Rs 7,500 crore. Airports, railways, and highways are key parts of this upgrade.
  9. Hotels, railways, consumption, and aviation sectors stand to gain big as tourism will get a major boost.
  10. The opening of the Ayodhya Temple can be advantageous for the food and beverage business as well as retail stores offering a variety of religious merchandise.
  11. FMCG companies and food services chains are making a beeline for Ayodhya ahead of the Ram temple consecration on January 22, which they said is expected to lead to an 8-10-fold surge in tourism and floating (visiting) population of the city amid its global branding and facelift.
  12. Projects worth Rs 50,000 crore, including an airport, railway station, new township, roads, and hotels, are underway in Ayodhya, orchestrated by 37 state and national government agencies across 264 different initiatives.
  13. Maryada Purushottam Ram International Airport, mirroring the Ram Temple's design, is set to commence operations and the renovated railway station along with improved road connectivity via NHAI to neighboring cities will redefine Ayodhya tourism.
  14. Two new Amrit Bharat trains and six new Vande Bharat Trains were recently introduced in Ayodhya.

All in all, the Ayodhya Ram Mandir temple will not just be a spiritual landmark but a catalyst for economic growth, creating jobs, boosting tourism, and potentially setting new records in GST collections and GDP.
